In all probability nothing.

Persephone29 wrote:
Or what did happen?

Nothing that had anything to do with it being unlicensed. He says they told him there wasn't a bus he could catch from the place and the director charged him too much to drive him places. The house was built sometime in the 80's. It had an ugly carpet. It was too confining and only had a small yard. (He was able to go outside the property if he wanted) there were walnut trees in the area which would be bad for his COPD. Stuff like that.

Is that when they were upset about the bathroom accidents? Because that's not being mean, especially if one can walk.

That was not an issue there.

Think about an accredited college, vs an unaccredited college. A degree from an unaccredited college is unacceptable.

So you think he is safer and better off in his present situation?

And if he gets another referral from a social worker to a care home where he will have the room he is longing for and needs, he should refuse it and stay homeless if the place is not licensed?

Or hold out for the kind of apartment setting you dreamed up but does not actually exist for him that you know of?

I do not think this man has enough time left health-wise to keep dickering around over particulars and holding out for something that isn't readily obtainable.

There are apartments for people with chronic ailments.

I’m shocked that the social workers would have recommended an unlicensed place. I halfway don’t believe the Patterson place was unlicensed.

The SRO was an apartment like the one I mentioned above. It was for homeless folks, though.

I'm guessing ASS-P likes to keep the roads hot. That's an old saying from my dad about people who like to be on the go. He seems like he gets out a lot, which is a good thing, I guess. I wouldn't really know, I'm not into getting out much. But, it also seems like he has trouble with crowded spaces where he much share space.

I never really had all that many good ideas except to maybe lose the 'stuff' until he's settled. But, maybe he won't get settled so that's why he likes having his stuff. If he ever does get a place, I'd lock the door and use the window to avoid everyone. It's harder to have run ins with people if you never interact. I was in a half-way house once, for two months after treatment. I knew I didn't do well with sharing space, so I paid extra and kept away from everyone. The only time we ran into each other was in the kitchen, for food. And I did dine and dash. Ugh... I found a hair in my bathroom (that I paid extra NOT to share) that belonged to one of my roommates, so I knew she was sneaking into my bath when I was gone. I hate hair! It is one of my phobias. I had a s**t fit. I don't envy people who must share spaces. I can do it with family, but not strangers.

He values his independence, yes.

I don’t know about the Patterson place...but I have a suspicion it might have had elements of a halfway house type setup, though I could be wrong.

...Ezra, you are concentrating on trivialities re: my objections to Patterson! Try, " Daniel " tried to get me to give him my possesions! And, I wasn't going to have a room to myself! And what justification is there for lying about the existence of public transport? Not saying " Ask permission/arrange to go ", LYING! :x (presumably - or being so s**tless you don't know there is any) Trying to get control over people? " Daniel " likely stole some paperwork from me to try and contact somebody, too (Luckily, I was able to contact them anyhow) :x .

Each 'apartment' held 3 occupants. One bigger room had two people, they shared a bath. One little room had me, with a bath outside the room door. With a common living room and kitchen... If you get a pig for a roommate, or even a housemate, it can be not very fun. These were addicts, with lots of bizarre habits (aside from drugs). I had it a lot better than some. My friend's housemate had and eating disorder as well as addiction. She had the same room I had, only in a different apartment. She was a laxative abuser, when they took her laxatives away, she would make soap suppositories. She was constantly pooping with the bathroom door open, even when company was there! We called her the 'madd crapper.' God, the people who end up rooming together can be very difficult. If Patterson was like that, I feel so sorry for anyone who must go through that.

The experience did help my recovery, I stayed clean and sober because I never wanted to have to go through that again.

That is not how things are in a care home. A care home is a nice place that is a combination of room and board and a clinic. Not a chamber of horrors.

Like I have said several times. I have checked out all the care homes listed in Patterson and did not find one I would not voluntarily move into. They all look pretty standard to me.
This is probably the one ASS-P was sent to. If not this one then one very similar:

A nice big house in a nice suburb.

But if everyone wants to keep facilitating the notion that a care home is a chamber of horrors and he is better off out on the street, then so be it.

...I tend to imagine that you did not find it when you looked up bscd in Patterson. It was closing/had closed st the time I finally left. I don't think that photograph is of it. You haven't tried to justify the lying (I assume - I'll stop saying that) about the public transport, or the trying to get possessionss from me. :

So you did not really leave it, as it was shutting down anyways. Interesting a social worker would send you to a place that was closing its doors. That's an interesting new detail. No way to check out the actual place then eh?

That is because you have a history of making false accusations and distorting things, see the latest of many examples below:

You have mentioned that before, but how could you have ever gone back there, when it has been closed since you left?

I'm very glad to hear that. The majority of people did not steal. But, if one of your housemates was or had been homeless, they have zero boundaries. They have an unspoken sort of code on the streets about "sharing." Never leave anything lying around because they will help themselves. And if someone doesn't share, it's bad business. Just down the road in our old neighborhood, a homeless guy who traipsed back and forth in front of our house to watch our TV from the road, was arrested for killing someone over not sharing an orange. I will help a homeless person with donations, but living with one is another matter entirely. It is impossible to escape that hard scrabble existence without developing a survivalists attitude and ways. The woman who kept sneaking into my bathroom when I wasn't home was homeless before treatment, she did not see my contract with the halfway house for my room and bathroom as a reason not to invade my space. In her mind, if she could access it, it was hers.

...I left the Patterson place, it seemed still operating, I was in a motel for a week testing to arrange going back, after my motel money ran out, I had to stick around Patterson a couple days mote, it was still within the month at the place I had paid for - The place had been vacated as far as the other people still being there, but it was still " Daniel's " - and it was not the only place he had.
Somehow, it had gone from being occupied to not occupied within a week That wasn't t my doing. I minimum-stayed there a night or two before the bring taken back actually happened.
