Clothes , cough , crippled-ness .
HOT Team can't make referrals. Since they're the only people in your corner, you definitely need to find a new team who can. The friendly staff at St. Anthony's will connect you with a proper social worker who can make the right referrals and get the help that you need.
I can help to give you bus routes if you like. Much easier than walking.
A radio provides a way to get away from the crap which is part and parcel of being homeless.
It can potentially provide so much solace for somebody---even a radio!
I agree, but it has to come behind a stable place to live and some clothes.

In my experience, they provide free TV in group homes.
A stable place to live is #1 priority. Not a radio or anything like that. Not even a shelter. He needs a place where his problems can be tended to by a qualified professional. At the moment, only ASS-P is tending to his problems and it's not working. As it wouldn't for anyone in his position having to fend for themselves.
Clothes are important but they are also down the list. He goes through clothes extremely quickly. It's not the source of the problem. Fixing the source will help with the clothes situation.
ASS-P, if you're still reading, please stay focused and confident that St. Anthony's can help you. I know you've been burnt in the past but not everyone is the same. There are genuine carers out there who can help you. Please allow them to. ![]()
...Ystterday , IIRC I didn,t even get to the fact that I face a hhearing at the shelter , I think thiis Mon. , that could get me kicked out- and banned for three months !
Basically , it,s because of things that happen because of my d/e problem - Which , ironically , seems to be lightening up to-day .
I have a needed medical thing too-morrow (Fri.) morn and I do , still , need to get pants - I guess , since Tobes apparently likes to follow Google Maps , he can follow this - There,s a juncture of Market and Mission streets where there,s an Old Navy , Target , Ross Dress For Less (Cali-only?? chain) and Levi,s store (Theleast likely that I,d buy from presumably rather expensive/tourist-y .) all near each other - More convenient - and , as far as Goodwill goes , I don.t believe I,ve been directly teated nastily there as I have at two nearby Goodwill/ stores !
/ I have not heard from DC either , I hope he is alright , and I do hope he is still able/willing to tender his offer to me , though now it seems many here are enthusiastic about the prospet of me being in a booard and care home/similar of some sort - Which , for one , is not as readily there now and easy to get into (But to get OUT of ???
) by many here .

Well, I hope you can get your new clothes and then you're dressed nicely to go to St. Anthony's at the address I said over PM, as soon as you can. I can't stress how important it is... it's your life.
By the way, when I contact various people 'on the ground' in the US, often when I mention that I'm from Australia, the doors to helping ASS-P close. If anyone in San Francisco or a nearby state is willing to contact people on my behalf, please send me a PM and we can chat. It seems only so much can be done over email and my location is not helping things.
...To-day it took , IIRC , an hour to walk the blocks from the Sanctuary shelter to Market Street . Maybe just 45
. For all the Google Maps following .
I really did , after thibking about it a bit , look forward to maybe a new start in Nashville - Maybe mmet some other follks , too - Maybe , yes , as was put here , me and DC : lift each other up : .
Maybe me busk some again , maybe get a band going . (Hey , it,s Music Citu - isn,t it ?) Maybe sorta start anew ithe Social Services not yet so sick of me , and me of them
Maybe be seen more as a a :: nice : Aspie.Autie , not a : homeless : - who once had a Beatles/Lovin, Spoonful haircut , all innocent-lookin, , even if he can,t rock one anymore .
Other people we a bit manic for me to leave SF for a while ,/ just as they were mancic for me to go to the All-In-One CCSF registration alone - I could never get help - With one exception , and he did try - and said a third person in SF would meet me , but he never did , that 3d person apparently deciding that I was less than a full person when I couldn,t afford a cellphone anymore .
Frankly , the amount of monney I,d be likely to have in some : homea : , along with goiing in with no established frieds , or family ,, here might leave w==me with no money to have a cellphone - or much of anything else .

You CAN afford one. You CHOOSE not to buy one.
ASS-P, you have serious mental problems that prevent you from realising how serious your situation is. Read your signature and acknowledge it. Yesterday you showed improvement that you acknowledged you need care. You need around-the-clock care by qualified mental and physical health professionals. DCJ123 is nice but seems like a very unstable person with mental health problems of his own. Let's not BS here. In my opinion, I wouldn't advise going to Nashville.
All myself and a few others are trying to do is help you get into a better place in life.
...Replying to your first recent post , i was going to say thank you for your help - and I still do - and that perhaps you can dance around spelling it out , at least for a while...However , in reference to this n=, newer , post , first...Even if it,s literally true - maybe - I say BULL ! - about the implication that I must buy a cellphone now !
If I had a greater influx of money now , perhaps I might .
However , I explained how having a bottom-end cellphone AND this bottom-end tablet (The cf I had was technically considered a : message phone : n=, not a : smartphone : by the people I bought it from though that was their term not mine .) was silly , at the financial level I;m at - That cf was a $55 a month monkey on my back keeping it going ! Now , that said , I might even still have it - If not for the lost ATM card incident , which I still (in a sense) haven,t recovered from ! (Incidentally , I didn,t get this up??...but the ATM card people had a failing yestrday apparently across their entire system ! And I couldn,t access my money at ALL , likewise other people , and my balance was down to 0 dolars and zero cents !
That is itself over now , I,m back to normal , I am able to access the normal , full , balance . But...)
I couldn;t pay that monthly THEN . With how I am now , I can.t really swing a cellphone !
I would LIKE to be able to speak to my brother
, which I would need a phone to do...But I can,t .
There is my horreendouus under-knowledge of tech and computers in general
, too , which I may not have posted about in the time yoou,ve been here , but gurts me very much !
I had hoped that , maybe in Nashville , I could find help with that...
While I may go to that St. Anthony,s office , and may pursue help , even - maybe - of a sort that,s : board and care : style , which I could - meaning to do it with the ability to leave if and when I want , however - accept if offered - Which is REALLY not as sure as you seem to now , enthusiastically ,/ think , I do not think there,s a : Cozy Board : just waiting around the cornerfor me ! - Again , while/I could end up doing that -- it is not absolute .
AND , I think there is FA
R LESS of it , and less readily avaialable (And less : wondeful :\understanding : , too !) , and so forth - than you (And I guess others ?) now seem to believe ! A
Really , how could I , just for for that one topic , afford a f*****g cellphone now ??

As long as you don't lose your phone, at Walmart there is a one-off payment of $89 for AT&T Samsung Galaxy Express 3 GoPhone.
AT&T offer $10 recharge vouchers with no expiry. So you can take as long as you need. You don't even have to recharge every month, it can be every 3 months or more.
Don't worry that it's a smart phone. You don't need to be able to use all the fancy features. Just use it in the normal way that you'd use a regular cell phone. It will let you call someone and more importantly - to receive calls. Your availability is so minimal, just like the problem we had before. It's hard for people who want to help you to find you, with no way of contacting you.
It's less than $100 total and you only need to top up when you need to use it. You can afford it.
There were two people from St. Anthony's who offered social services to him.
In reply to my first email, their previous email was saying he could come to St. Anthony's and get some help. I thanked them for their reply and followed up with a more descriptive and urgent email stating the seriousness of ASS-P's situation, his mental and physical problems, his 30 year homelessness, etc. I stated he needed around-the-clock care and a good social worker... since he doesn't even have a social worker.
You'd think they'd go: "Woah... stop right there... send him our way! We need to get this man some help!" Right? Wrong.
Somehow the person from St. Anthony's found out I was in Australia (I never told her directly, for obvious reasons), she replied to my email basically saying there's nothing she could do. What total BS!!
She's done a complete 180 and has closed all doors now, presumably solely because she found I was in Australia. That really sucks, not for me but for ASS-P. He had a chance of help and now they're washing their hands with him apart from the BS "free meal and clothing" which does not help him long-term.
This is why it's so F*ing hard for me to make any progress from here. As soon as the "Oh... you're in Australia..." is mentioned or found out, the doors close. It's BS and these social workers aren't worth the paper their qualification is printed on.

The reason they close off like that is because you cannot physically bring him to them, which is what they need done. They would regard any of us the same way--if we aren't right there and can drag him in they aren't going to kill themselves trying to find him.\
And with him being long-term homeless, I'm quite sure they know of him already and know that he is probably not going to rush in to see them, OR possibly they have dealt with him before (he has mentioned he had some trouble with Social Services before).
So when someone is long-term homeless like this and actively has resisted any attempt to house him or says he can't because of a thousand different reasons, they consider him homeless by choice. It's sad, but it's a fact.

I said that his shelter is right nearby and whether they could drive over and pick him up but they declined. I didn't tell them his last name and don't want to give them any information about him now. I wouldn't trust them with it. I replied to their email basically saying that she's not doing her job. So, that bridge, for me reaching out, is burnt and good riddance.
Anyone can choose to do anything... but not everyone is of sane mind to make the right choices. ASS-P can not make the right choices for his long-term health. He's trying his best to live day-to-day but it's not working. Someone in San Francisco or nearby really needs to help, please. To get a truly caring person to drive to his shelter, pick him up, and take him to an assisted living home OR to a fantastic social worker who can refer him to one. To finally get the care he needs, so he can start to plan his life better.
...mn , it is not accurate to say that I : have
resisted any attempt to house me : ! !! !! !! !! !!n (And it,s clearly your statement/opinion , not your anallysis of others,) - I might argue with you at length but I do noot wish to be seen as techy/arumentative/yelling !
If Tobes has been told that they arenot interested in me - Well , that,s too bad .
Things , with me , often work out : worse : than I thought they could be !
Perhaps that means t
THERE IS NOT any liklihood of SS doing much for me hr
ere , an
then , and I should aim for somewhere else , somewhere non-Nashvillian if DC is still/nonavailable ?
As for cell phones , Tobes ,again , if I had enough of an influx of extra money , I would spend some of it on a phone .
The one I had cost a whole lot less than the one you quoted .
They don,t have Wal-Mart stores in San Francisco (the mail orders I made from walmart.Com/ were my usiing an agency,s address to get mail for me , they said that that was against their permission , and I won,t use their address anymore) .
It is ironic ,me having so little but being told to go get a cellphone . I have mentioned , IIRC ,/ that time I bought some CDs and asked someone to get them burned onto an MP3 player (which I provided) so I could have them /and listen to/them during my anticipated recovery from the big toes amputation -/The amputation happened
but the anticipated pleasant recuperatioon never did
, either in the sense of having one or in the sense of/having the discs, n
music to listen to while I had the recovery .
This person claimed she knew no one in the whole , wide , world who could burn CDs onto an MP3
(Are they dated relics/of the 00s by now ?) . I am
condemmed , it seems , to always be
just on the outside , shut out , looking in , of the/ : modern world :
.
