I’m envious, Teach lol.

I wish I could get my haircut :)

I’m definitely glad for your good news.

Are barbers shops still closed in NY?
Our shops are opening on Sunday. Lockdown will continue for Independence day though.

Barber shops are closed until at least May 15th.

We’re going to be late with everything.

Well I went out for the first time in 9 weeks. The taxi driver on the outgoing journey had no mask (I did) the hairdresser had no gloves, the taxi driver on the homeward bound trip had no mask either. (Gett Taxi).
People don't seem to have a clue as to cross infection.
My hairdresser was panicky and cut my hair too short. It will grow. Israeli Memorial Eve today and conducting services in the Cemetery is prohibited. It is incomprehensible. Corona seems under control for now at least.

Maybe they’re worried that lifting measures at a time that coincides with a major national day of remembrance might lead to large crowds gathering: undoing all their efforts to contain the spread of the virus.
It is a sad decision though.

Yes because they are mainly aged parents of young soldiers and terrorist victims. My generation is still quarantined. Strange times.

72 years!! Israel Independence Day!

Everyone is in lockdown, we all sang Ha Tikva (national anthem) on our balconies after the ceremony at the military cemetry yesterday evening.
I have been through so many wars here in my lifetime, no family is untouched. The strangest Independence Day ever but making the most of it. Bought good steak and Ben &Jerrys' ice cream. I love my people and my country, here's hoping for world peace and prosperity, an end to war and suffering.

Indeed: Happy national anniversary :D

(If that’s an appropriate phrasing?)

Well we have been authorized to see our children (the over 60's) no hugging and kissing, keeping a distance. My two little blond grandsons (Russian mum) and my son are coming on Friday for a brief visit.
The thing is I am not going to live like a frightened rabbit for the rest of my days. I cannot see my kids without hugging them. Just can't. This weekend I will hug my kids and be passionate with my lover for the first time in 10 weeks, otherwise life is not really worth living.

I wish you well on your get-together. One little word of advise. Move as much of the get-together outdoors. The sunlight will kill the virus and the gentle breezes will dissipate the viral loads. This will make the encounter much safer. You might even plan a picnic.
