Hi, nightbender. I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I think you're right that New Age philosophies aren't going to fix a medical problem. Has your case worker organized that visit to a neurologist yet? The sooner that happens, the sooner you should get some answers, I think. Jenny

Yes Nightbender, I am sorry about your Dad's job---you don't need any more stress. I was fortunate to find a master social worker that understands me. I think it is important as Jenny has stated that you get to this neurologist. I also think you need someone you can trust that truly understands you---someone you can meet with in person. The idea of a master social worker is a good one I think.

I'm sorry I haven't been much help to you lately Nightbender---I have been kind of in the dumps myself lately. My main problem lately has been anxiety issues---and maybe a little depression. I worked on my novel a little bit this evening---and I felt better. Can you find something like that to work on that can get your mind a little sidetracked from problems? It could even be solitaire on the computer---just anything to work your mind in a manner that gets it thinking about something other than what is pulling you down.

Hi, Glider18. I'm glad you've had a chance to get some work done on your novel and that you're feeling a bit better.

By the way, I think you've made a really good effort to help Nightbender and offer him advice. You don't have anything to apologize about. I'm sure Nightbender would agree. Jenny

I'm sorry that you're exhausted. I can understand you not wanting to see yourself as "disabled", but if you need the services and you are entitled to them, then you should use them. Your goal is to make your life better, and I guess you just need to use any means that are available to do that. Make sure that your case manager makes an appointment with that neurologist for you, ok? Jenny

I don't know what to say. Do you have a credit card or anything that you could pay it with? Keep in touch on this and let us know what is going on.

On the bright side, you just made your 1000th post :D . Now you can create your own title for yourself on your avatar.

Ok, Nightbender, we're going to try something here. First of all, I made a post earlier you might want to look at above. Alright, first is a question I want you to answer honestly, and it is meant in a good way. Do you want to be happy? I hope you answer "yes."

Alright, second, I want you to make a positive post about something in your life past/present that you have enjoyed (post it here on this thread). This could also be something in the future that you would like to happen that is positive. I hope to hear from you soon.

Hi, Nightbender and Glider18. Nightbender, I'm sorry there's a copayment required for that neurologist- could your parents help out? Otherwise, maybe you'll need to find a different neurologist- there are plenty of them out there.

I think Glider18's suggestions are good ones, Nightbender- it'd be great to see a post from you outlining something positive that's happening or going to happen in your life. During difficult times it's sometimes important to remind ourselves that life isn't all a struggle. What do you think? I'm looking forward to reading your ideas. Jenny

Hi, Nightbender. Why is your mom against you seeing a neurologist? She wants to find out what's wrong with you, doesn't she? I'm glad your case manager is finding another one for you.

It's good that you're able to see some positive things in your life. :) I'm glad you have a nice park near your apartment. Do you spend much time there? Are you able to move around much? (I don't know how mobile you are.)

I have lots of positives in my life. I have my family, my job and good health. I know I'm lucky. Jenny
