1. Fundamentalists won't watch the Simpsons and South Park because of the language, and they don't do non-procreational sex (oral, anal, fetishes). From what I've seen, except for maybe two people, virtually everybody who was willing to do those things was either an atheist, agnostic, or pagan--and they refuse to date Christians, even "liberal" ones. My second girlfriend (who had AS) was a textbook fundamentalist.

2. I came to the conclusion that Aspies don't lie or cheat because

a) Since it's more difficult for an Aspie to find a relationship (as opposed to an NT), we have this "better not screw this up" mentality once we do meet someone, since we get the impression that we may never meet anyone else should this relationship work out.

b) Given the need for "alone time" that many of us have, I don't think that many of us can handle multiple partners when many can barely handle one partner.

Unfortunately, I was recently proven wrong on #2.

1. At the risk of sending this to another forum for adult concepts... seriously.... nothing oral ... wow... I'd be changing my religion I'm afraid.

2. I don't need to explain to you how wrong this is... Just read some of the other posts around WP.

It's like your only options are to align yourself with either the hippies or the Religious Right.

*coughs* Image I do.

Perhaps just some patience? I don't think you're unreasonable in what you want out of a relationship. It may just take time, and like the majority of men on this forum concerned about finding a woman, you're still quite young.

Energy and will topic

I suppose I am just old fashioned. Never been into crazy sex, drugs, rock concerts, dumb cartoons (except for Peanuts), cuddling, religion--hey, all of what Tim Tex wrote.

My NT kids say I am boring. But I am happy!

That's so sweet. :D

Tim - have you ever seen Jot? (Someone on the thread mentioned cartoons, but I don't remember if you like them.) Anyway, it's my absolute favorite Biblical cartoon from early childhood:

Never heard of Jot, but I watch Moral Orel a lot.

Picture an Asian, 30-something version of Ms. Censordoll, and you've got my ex.

As far as relationships go, the thing is that except for premarital/non-procreational sex, I am old-fashioned and traditional. And I would like to start a family one of these days.

The other problems are that most artsy people tend to be hipsters with extreme left-wing political views, who shun anybody who thinks differently from them. And most of the yuppie capitalists I come across tend to be religious fundamentalists who shun my interests and views on sex.

So that puts me in a difficult situation.

I understand your concerns. And I agree that it may be difficult, but I still don't think the woman you're looking for is impossible to find. Before I went back to school recently, I was actually a mosaicists.

My husband is an excellent artist, and my son is taking art lessons from one of the art professors at SCADS:

http://www.scad.edu/

She's also a Christian. When we lived in Washinton, DC, there were lots of creative people. You're right though, the Christian community is not overflowing with artistic individuals, but we do exist.

gbollard - Thank you for posting that! I'll have to show it to my children, we've never heard of Morel Orel before. Have either of you seen Give Up Yer Aul Sins?

There's also Angel Wars, the Hanna-Barbera series The Greatest Adventure: Stories from the Bible and, of course, Davey and Goliath. Lots and lots of cartoons...

There are also some very well done Christian comics - don't know if you like those.

Anyway, don't give up! :D

And with the fact that I also require that she be an Aspie, people keep telling me that it is impossible.

Well, it is a nonsense request based on an assumption that you've already proven false. Why limit yourself to a segment of the population for no particular reason?

BTW: studentM, that Give Up Yer Aul Sins? clip was cool... I've never heard of it before.

Sounds like Dorango Colorado to me.

 A fundamentalist Christian, follows the bible by how they interpret it. Nope, I'm pretty sure alot of married Fundamentalists has oral sex. Otherwise, most of them would have twenty something babies. I agree though, the restraint sucks!

I also think Gbillard made a good point. :) Hope you feel better, again.

I would prefer a big city, though.

I did come across someone who met the characteristics I am looking for, but she ran of with another guy and refuses to even be my friend anymore.

As far as the artsy stuff goes, many indie and foreign films can bypass the MPAA rating system because they're done for artistic merit. While I am sure that many are family friendly, some can have the content equivalent to a movie that is rated NC-17. So many fundamentalists would label all indie films as evil, because they can't tell the difference between art and porn.

Remember when the movie Titanic came out, and everybody freaked out about the scene where Leonardo DiCaprio was drawing Kate Winslet in the nude? These are the same fundamentalists who freaked out about that. And Titanic wasn't even indie! Fundamentalists think any secular music is evil.

As far as traveling goes, you have many people who think of a vacation as "no computer and no video games for a week", and nothing else.

I'm originally from Houston, and the fundamentalists freaked out about a shopping center (I think it was either in the Woodlands or Conroe, which are both northern suburbs of Houston) that had a Renaissance theme, that had statues of naked people (a la Michelangelo's David). Although the male parts weren't clearly visible from ground level (since they were very high up, and very small anyway), the fundamentalists nonetheless wanted fig leaves covering up the statues.

Wow... I couldn't live amongst people (prudes) like that.

I was raised by my parents to believe that nakedness was normal but more importantly, that it was terribly funny.

My mother used to pause VHS tapes when sex scenes came on - just so she could point and laugh.

My kids watched Titanic aged about 5. Sex occurs a little in movies that I let them watch but we don't really talk about it... they consider it boring and want the kissy bits to be over so that the killer robots can come back.
