...More seriously , I " filled out all the proper things " , did everything right... I didn't even get a proper rejection for my efforts (& money) in , for instance , one of those examples .

Screw college, uni, and all that altogether. I'm not going. I hate those places.

Its really all a fad. Youc an have the university lifestyle while working too. I never really had it until I moved away from home.

Its all just a fad, when you're older you look back on the whole uni student is so cool and rebellous phase as overrated and immature. I wouldn't go back there if I was paid to.

Take this person's advice and get help with your application. A lot of your posts didn't make sense to me either. Yes, you're AS, but so are most people here...everyone is on a different level with writing/communicating what they're trying to say. You might not be communicating clearly to the admissions counselors. Try applying to several colleges. In the US we have community colleges which basically anyone can be accepted into, I don't know if the UK has an equivalent higher institution of learning. I think I understand what you're saying, you want the college experience. I missed a lot of high school because I was ill a lot of the time. So I feel like missed out on that experience and now I really want my college experience. Also, many students from other countries come study in the US. I don't know if you would be comfortable with that, but that is an option....applying to US schools.

I am not in financial/health/personal stability shape now to seriuosly apply , AND , YES , I would need some (As I said , non-financial.) HELP ! !! !! !! !! !! I have had embittering experiences , applying to those " nice , helpful " colleges and associated .

...I would need someone to show me that5 it was likely that it would work this time , that they'd at least answer me , to " clear the pipes " and and how that that had been done .

At least you didn't drop out of highschool. I dropped out and most likely wont be accepted into any colleges even after I get my GED.

I slacked off a lot during high school, and now I wish I could just go back and start it over.

Go to "college"? Why?

Better you should become a hairdresser or an electrician or a plumber.

You will make good money without wasting years of your life and racking up tens of thousands of dollars in debt.

A hairdresser or electrician or baker or plumber can start his own business and make a ton of money.

If you own your own pizza shop you will probably make more money than the average "college graduate" without having to beg someone for a job.

Seriously, think about it.

I didn't go to college & I have no regrets about not going. I did horrible in school & only graduated high-school because a couple teachers curved my grades. I would have to spend a year taking remedial coarses assuming I don't fail anything. When I was in school I was told that I couldn't drop out because I would have great & amazing opportunities 1ce I had my diploma. After I had my diploma; there wer no great & amazing opportunities available to me. I bet if I wer to go to college & get some kind of degree; I'd get told that I need more education; it's a never ending cycle with education because there is always more to learn. A lot of the coarses I was required to take in high-school did not seem practical to me then & they have not proved beneficial to me in the 9 years that I've been out. The most successful people in America got where they wer because of the opportunities they had instead of their education. They got where they wer because of who their parents wer or because they wer lucky enough to land modeling, singing, acting, or sports contracts. Some of the richest people in America do not even have high-school diplomas.

...I do think , for one , that I , in practical terms , could be helped by going to college .

I'm not AGAINST " doing something practical " or not mindful of the " something that would et you a job " factor . That said...
I have cried & cried about " not going to college " like I expected to .
I am bookish/reading oriented .
This could almost come off like some " eccentric millionaire who doesn't want anyone to go to college " situation , although I don't think that there's anyone like that here now !

I'm in the process of applying and I'm so confused. I don't know if I want the spend eight years studying something that I'm already reading about now, and I don't feel like putting myself out there to be rejected.
