Well, you're technically being reasonable, but an NT person is gonna look at getting your driveway a little messy as no big deal because generally most people don't care.

A water pump is generally a simple fix if you know anything about cars. If it really does concern you ask him to layout flattened empty cardboard boxes under his workspace. At the end of the day anything leaking will just be absorbed and contained on the cardboard, it can be discarded. You're happy, he's happy.

i normally wouldn't give a rats ass but the renter is coming in 2 days for a walk through and has complained about the driveway. i cant trust him to be responsible with working on his stuff because he will not put cardboard down or even use a drain pan. he talks like he needs pavement to do it but i cant tell you how may hours I've spent on the grass working on my truck because sometimes you just have to compromise. water pumps on diesels are normally gear drive off the cam gear or injection pump gear and some oil comes out when you remove them. all this s**t is so far behind me now i have already had plenty more BS handed to me by my family and it's getting old. once i finish college and get a job, i can keep my distance, until then its going to be a game of lies to keep them happy.
