Oh no, not WoW. Don't get me wrong, I loved it when I used to play it, but the worst thing about MMO's (all of them) is the vicious trolling from the players.

Also, let's all be nice on here :)

MMO's where the main point of the game is to keep acquiring stuff and leveling up will do that no matter who you're playing with. Family or strangers.

I quit playing Final Fantasy 11 and 14 because they begun to imitate WOW in its inane stuff-quest...they begun to release pieces of gear that were so powerful that if you didn't have them you could not even get into a group. They made new expansion creatures require that you have those pieces of gear to progress. All in all it just added vitriol to the community and the only ones that enjoyed it were the power gaming kiddies.

Drop the game and find another one. I play a WW2 simulator MMO called Battleground Europe where there is no stuff to acquire, no levels (well there's ranks but you can rank up to get access to all things in a day) and no crafting... but there is insane cooperation required between players to defeat other players (not AI) and the community both on the forums and online are always fun and respectful simply because there is no competition between people, its all cooperative effort. You really have to do something monumentally stupid to get cursed at.

The last monumentally stupid thing I saw someone do was so... epic.... that the game devs watching the game even sent a joking game-wide system message message at the time. All in good fun :)

I played that before my computer fried. JPanzerj, ex-trainer, Allied High Commander and (seemingly always) Map OIC. I played before 1.31 released so I have no idea how it has changed. I remember being given temporary GM status with the .sys command during an intermission. That was fun.

The atmosphere of Battleground Europe is unlike any other MMO I've played. It lacks the childish and immature playerbase of a console based FPS. It's challenging but always fair. A Level 1 piece of kit can take down a Level 5 piece of kit. It really is a pleasant game.

Nice. Weekly Reports were a bit annoying though, especially for a wing or division. When I get my computer back hopefully I'll see you on there. :)

1, there are other guilds out there, you can just leave the one you're in and try another.
2. kick the people that are ruining the guild?.

Learn to read my post! ! It's not about my guild! It had THREE... PEOPLE.... IN... IT... WHO.. ARE... MY,... MOTHER.. AND... EX FRIEND... as I put, and wrote.

I think it'd be great if you get a life, and stop bullying people for thrills.

No! LEARN TO READ! I rant about Elitist litttle bullies like you who harass and berate me for years through the game PERIOD! Everywhere I try to enjoy myself, some little turd has to have it all their way, and they'll get vicious to have it! Now f**k OFF!! !!
It's just a video game holy. There's more important things to get pissed off about. Perhaps you should take up a new hobby. I noticed back in the day when I used to game and go on forums a lot I would get real easily rattled and that was cuz they pretty much took over my life. Since I was so preoccupied with both of em they seemed so important to me.

Please accept my APOLOGY for tarnishing your beautiful little world here. Never mind I said "I am highly upset, so please be kind".

*opens dictionary. Crosses out the word "haven" and it's following meanings.*

Apparenly, this applies to a certain club here for the second to fourth time now! This is saftey... Being called a b***h, and being told to "get a life", just because I get bullied day in and out by random morons somewhere else.

Yes, it's still the Haven and it's meant mostly for people who want to vent or get support. Sometimes people are very upset and even if they might over-react they still don't need to be pushed further by snarky remarks.

From what I see LiendaBalla mentioned clearly the state she's in so anybody who feels the need to kick her when she's down should go and play tough guy somewhere else.

Obviously if you play with relatives the emotional involvement is much higher then playing with strangers.

So yeah im kind of sorry for not reading your post.

You don't need to apologise TB. I need to shut up, and leave everyone in their content enviroments.

You have to take WoWer's with a grain of salt. I heard somewhere that the average age of the WoW population is 14-16 years old. Many of these kids get bullied in school and come into WoW with chips on their shoulders. They throw themselves into a world where they actually have control over things and can put themselves in positions of imagined power. This lust for control creates the elitist mentality that you mentioned and the anonymity of the internet removes that block in their brain that stops people from saying things that upset people.

I played for about 3 years, and watched the quality of personalities diminish with every passing update. Things really went downhill for my server’s Trade Chat channel after they allowed people to have both Alliance and Horde characters on the same server. It seemed like all of the wannabe hot-shot kids came over to Horde to smack talk. The whole elitist thing really took off around then and began to kill the game for me. I was always the best healer (as a Holy Paladin) in my groups, and people would always tell me that I kept them alive when other healers would have let them die long ago. I don’t know if it was my Aspie traits or what, but I would always go beyond my assigned role of tank healer and end up healing everyone. I never let this go to my head though and I would still help people with questions about the game whenever I knew the answer. I tried one of the “elitist” guilds out, but I despised the people in it. It was right after I came back after Cataclysm came out and within a week or so of launch I was the top geared holy paladin by far just by using the dungeon finder by myself. When it came time to do things within the guild I was never really invited, it was like they wanted elite people but didn’t want people who were better than their group of core friends. I ended up going back to the slow progression of my old social guild. I guess I preferred using my playing ability to help others have fun and progress than easily progress myself with a bunch of big headed loud mouths.

I don’t play anymore now because of the people on there, and the fact that Blizzard has nerfed my class 8 or more times since Cata release. If you really enjoy MMOs you might want to try out FF11 or FF14. I played FF11 from Playstation 2 release until about 4 years later (you can get it for computer as well). The quality of players was so much better than WoW’s, although I tried playing it again a couple months ago and it really seems dead now. Most of the players are in the end-game content now and it’s hard to start up and play solo. FF14 requires a tip-top of the line computer to play (until it’s released on PS3) and it is severely lacking content. It has a lot of room for improvement and it seems like the new staff is really trying to improve it, plus it is by far the most beautiful MMO that has ever been released and will probably be that way for a long time. There are also several free to play MMOs out there, one of which is called Fiesta. It is pretty much a watered down version of WoW with 4 classes: Fighter, Archer, Mage and Cleric. It’s free to play, but you can spend real money to buy in game upgrades and enhancements. Another is Ragnarok Online. It’s an older game but I found it to be pretty fun for the short time I played it. It has a ton of classes and a pretty large world. I’ve been playing a game called Darkfall Online the last 2 months. It’s a first and third person PvP MMO with full loot when you die. It isn’t as bad as it sounds and you can play guildless and people will leave you alone for the most part. The only time you really get ganked is at starter monster areas, but they changed it to where people can’t raise their alignment for killing people from the other alliances (you lose alignment when you kill people of your race/alliance) so that will probably decline a lot.

I know I kinda rambled a bit, but that’s what I do lol. Hopefully you feel better about your situation with the hooligans on WoW, and if you decide to continue to play it don’t let the kids upset you, they aren’t worth it and your 15 bucks a month could be spent better elsewhere.

One thing to learn is this.

Gamers are one of the bitchiest, nastiest, most promiscuious and most pathetic breed of humans you can get. I have gamed for well over 10 years, and can safely say over 10 years and multiple communities, it's not a generalisation.

I've only recently learned if you get bullied by these people, pull out and you will be happier. Female gamers get a lot of sexist crap, and nasty crap, and bitchy crap, so if you've learned to stay away, good on you.

You can't argue with them, and you can't win.

You will be happier. Just know it's not just you.

out of the 10s of 1000s of gamers i've interacted with, I have a small handful of really great people who I have stuck with. That's usually all you're going to get with these people.

Lienda, if you decide you ever want to play WoW again, my personal advice would be to close the Chat window. I've never, ever gotten any useful information from WoW chat, and if you dare to ask a question about anything in the game, any actual answers will be buried under countless flames from punk kids and people with no lives who've been playing since beta, and don't think anyone should be allowed to play unless they're just as obsessed.

If you want to try an MMO where soloing can work, so you don't actually need a guild to get anywhere, I'd like to recommend my most recent discovery, Champions Online, a superhero MMO. A couple of months ago, they went to a "free to play" method, where you can actually play the game without ever giving them a dime. There are two adventure packs ("Serpent's Lantern" and "Demonflame") that you would need to actually purchase if you want to play them, but they aren't really necessary to advance through the game. Other than that, you have several Archetypes (characters with predefined powers and power progressions) available for free, with more available for purchase. Atari Tokens, the in-game currency used to buy Archetypes, new travel powers, and new costume pieces, aren't very expensive; also, if you decide you want a subscription, Gold membership unlocks the adventure packs, all the travel powers, more character slots, and most of the costume pieces, all included in your $15/mo, as well as the ability to create a "freeform" character (one where you define which powers you get at each level). There are also multiple ways to purchase the membership; I'm starting to save toward the $300 lifetime membership, because I'm having a lot of fun playing this game.

One of the nice parts is that if you have a question, and you ask it in chat, someone will answer it. Nobody's going to flame you for not knowing everything already, or if someone does, they'll get jumped on by everyone else in chat. Also, you can get involved in PUGs that can actually do stuff, and since each superhero has certain powers that work in certain ways, there's none of this crap about "playing your class" - a Behemoth Archetype is going to get in there and start punching because that's what their powers do; an Inferno is going to hang back and fire flame-bolts at the enemy, while a Glacier is going to be freezing targets in place (it's a side-effect of the higher-level Cold powers, as well as being a power the Glacier gets at about eighth level or so).

Incidentally, if you do decide to give it a try, and you run across Lightning, Overgrown, or Quickdraw, be sure to say hi! :)

Offline games for the way! Especially RPG/Action adventure games!! ! I wouldn't mind a single match of first shooter or strategy game online , but RPG??? Hell no!

Gaming was always an UNSOCIAL activity, where loner people can have fun in their dark room totally isolated from the outside word and its crap.

Who needs the social crap in gaming?

I would kill myself if I see a game in the future called "The World of Zelda"..

That brings back memories of being 11, shut off in my room with my Zork games on my Commodore 64 and a growing pyramid of empty Coca-cola cans.
