I have emailed Samaratians five times now and no reply. I feel with work and this trip that I have just got out of my depth, taken on too much and I can't deal with it.

That has happened to me, too. Many times.

Is there a chance you could kind of pare back on work? Get there five to ten minutes early so no one can criticize you for not being a good worker, but try to pull back emotionally. I tend to way, way overinvest in jobs. I end up caring more than my boss, which can make for an awkward situation.

And esp. perhaps the idea of unconnected positives? Maybe a sport you have vaguely thought about from time to time, running, rowing, soccer (football proper  ), or an art project you've thought about and can pursue in a fun, offhand, thoroughly nonobligatory way, or a pub with a once-a-week open mic? Or, you know I have visited both Democratic and Republican groups. Even though, yes, I do bat from the left side of the plate politically. I almost went to the Republican group initially from a mistake (they called themselves 'Town Hall') Anyway, fun at the beginning, then it wore off. But a little bit more connected me with the world, and might be better groups, medium contribution, see how it works, medium contribution, etc., that kind of thing, mainly one's time in trying to help, yes, in trying to make the world a better place. Even though most such efforts don't come to a whole lot, but some do, and also the good example effect.

And hec with the crummy Samaritans. Might be other good support/network/advocacy groups for those of us on the spectrum with mid to high skills? although I myself have patchy skills in many areas.
