Oh.

He's looking for support.

Carry on, then!

In my experience as someone who has been dignosed depression with suicidal tendencies for about 15 years I find that nothing truly makes you such; you may encounter a trigger, but it is ultimately your chemistry that dictates how you react to stimuli.

The question, then, becomes one involving your reaction. Are you being treated for depression? If so, have you told your therapy team about your suicidal thoughts?

Looks like you have issues with communication. Work on how you word things when you post something because of the way you asked it came off as trollish but I gave you a benefit of a doubt by answering it anyway with a serious answer.

What you just mentioned in your post you could have added that to your question so people wouldn't have taken it the wrong way.

I agree with the OP. I hate it here...if anything, the people on this forum actually treat me worse than people in real life. And they've made me more depressed and suicidal...and they've caused me to cut more.

If logging in to WP is making someone angry, depressed, hateful, or suicidal, then maybe - just maybe - they would be better off logging in elsewhere. I mean, if the cause can not be removed, then maybe removing the victim from the cause is the next-best thing to do.

It's like when I have to go to the front office - I can't stand those yammering sales/marketing types. They're loud, rude, crude, and generally disrespectful of us engineers. I feel angry, frustrated, and insulted every time I have to deal with them.

But I (usually) don't have to deal with them.

I can just stay away, back in my office or the production area, doing what I enjoy, and not exposing myself to hose jerks unless it's absolutely necessary.

Where else am I supposed to go? How about instead of adopting a "love it or leave it" attitude, you actually try to understand why this forum is not helping and is in fact hurting some people? It says something when my fellow Aspies are treating me as badly or worse than NTs do.

Just how do you want this website and its members to accommodate you?

If this is the worst thing that happened in your life, congratulations! You have a wonderful life and are a very lucky person! :) No, I'm serious. I consider my life pretty easy, and I have experienced all sorts of awful things by the time I was 13. But I thought I was lucky because I was smart so I didn't get bullied by every teacher, there WERE people who loved me, I had some friends even though they were outcasts themselves. It all depends on your perspectives, the same life can be considered wonderful or totally awful. So cheer up, go eat a piece of pie and a large block of chocolate, play some video games, then think again. Now your life doesn't feel so bad, is it?

I do agree with you about the feelings regarding this forum. When I first joined, I thought this is a very odd place. The atmosphere is much less supportive, or cooperative than forums I used to frequent. But you have to remember the characteristics of the autistic people. We're supposed to have trouble with empathy, trouble with understanding other people, and lack theory of mind ability. Of course it would feel like people are not very supportive, they don't seem sympathetic about your pains, they don't seem to share your problems or concerns. Besides every autistic person can be very different from another, so it's very likely to post some of your problems and have nearly nobody say "that's me, too".

You do get used to this place after a while. Honestly I don't think it's much easier to hang out with autistic people than NTs, and you shouldn't expect to have been instantly accepted and feel "at home" with others. Why? NTs are predictable, they behave as expected most of the time, so once you learn enough about them you can do OK. Autistic people, though sharing many similarities, are less predictable, and harder to build a relationship with. Many of us are quite used to being bullied, and probably act tough and rough towards others, or at least not very sensitive. It's all OK, though. Just remember people are all different and there can be a place for everyone.

i can agree in many regards....thinking of deleting it to be honest....

so many things that have nothing to do with autism or aspergers on here IMO.

there are little tid bits here and there but the constant new posts of things of a more personal issue rather than a diagnostic issue are depressing, angering, and serve no purpose other than to bring people down.

some of the posts are so stupid that someone would sit down and write it makes me want to shoot myself.

for instance "is bullying people who are different a good thing?"

wtf?

so many dumb posts like that.

sorry to step on toes so much of this is just quite ridiculous and mind numbing.

Seriously?

What do you expect from an internet message board where people are free to post their thoughts? You might want to hole yourself up in a lighthouse in future if you want to get away from it.

For gods sake if you don't like those threads don't read them.

To the original poster: If you really hate WP, it's probably better if you don't come here - Because you will never change people to make them say what you want. A lot of aspies fight with logic rather than sympathy when they find it illogical. Also it's hard to get empathy out of a bunch of aspies.

Also keep in mind, the larger a forum gets, the more people that clash with each other it gets. Perhaps you could try a smaller forum?

You may benefit a lot from an offline support group - people are less free to voice what they're actually thinking offline. - because of free speech and the fact you simply don't have control over what others say. Are there any offline support groups in your area?

Maybe you could try support groups or forums for people not with aspergers - they might have a more supportive atmosphere. As in, not struggle with giving empathy to others. I don't know if this is actually any good but you could try it: http://www.dailystrength.org/

There are support forums for aspie that are more supportive than others. I tend to gravitate towards the more contriversial ones, but there are so many now days you would be hard pressed to find one that doesn't suit you. Either way, good luck.

Let's take an example. One with my father in a restaurant someone in another person in another table said to someone else in that table ''Are they ret*d(not about us but for some other persons they know)?.My father heard that(and i of course)and saw me and started laughing, not in a comical way like when someone sees a comedy.I was seeing him.He thought i did not understand. So who is right?Me whom i say that i should have beaten and spit to my father to death even or him who believes what f***** fascist nazi society who thinks being disabled makes you an inferior creature that should be tormented(not that i am ret*d anyway)?Because of some things i read in here it's like saying i am wrong and my father is right, also that bullies are right and Hitler is right and being a bigot, hateful, egotistical and selfish are virtues.

I liked it that you agreed with me.Because i knew i am right,in reality it is pure logic and common sense. But some people probably like to call evil good and good evil.Maybe some times i am affected by lack of sleep and misunderstandings. There are many negatives but i have read many positives too.It is probably an analogy 0f 50-50,55-45 i think.

Take some time to really think about it, I'm sure you are just being affected by you.
