one shouldn't make one's primary goal in life to avoid pissing people off, because no matter what one does, it will piss somebody off somewhere, somehow, sometime. i piss people off just by being alive and breathing "their" air. as long as your motivation was not to piss off people in the first place, then the moral onus is on other people to act civilized and and not on you. one can't please everybody so one might as well please oneself.

Well that is not my goal just saying I'm not doing so well with the finding my own way and changing things for the better goals...and I can't always put myself first I care too much about other people for some reason.

well, at least you're far from being the only one to have these difficulties. i only recently learned that i am fit just to be a none-too-active hermit out in the woods, and up until that point i struggled to be with people and not go crazy. as far as caring for other people, when i was your age i had it in my young mind that i wanted to be a social worker, never mind that I was the one in need of social services and that i had no business attending to anybody else's needs no matter how trivial. my heart was in the right place but my brain was in the wrong place. your heart is in the right place also, this is admirable. the struggle is to make the brain do the heart's bidding without mucking it up somehow. in 5 decades i've failed utterly at this task, but i believe that you, with your youthful energy [and the advantage of fresh decades ahead of you] can succeed where i failed. you can be a people helper, because you care.

Maybe "someone" just learned a new catch-phrase and you were in their line of sight.

Don't take it to heart. It's not worth it.

I know how you feel and I know it feels awful. You are a kind, thoughtful, and sensitive person and sensitive people feel the deepest pain. Be kind to yourself, you aren't screwing up, you're doing a valiant job of carrying the heavy weight of care which I believe will bring joy once you find something worth investing the care in.

You're not a waste of time, you don't bother me in the slightest, and I don't think you're a drama queen, I think you're depressed, going through hard times, and that you have every right to speak of it.
If people have nothing better to do than try to bring you even further down they are very, very sad people.

@OP:

I know I normally don't agree with you but I don't think you should go. There is lots of conflict between individuals and even groups here because hardly anyone on this site is proficient in their social skills.

I'm new here so I don't really feel I know enough about the history of what's gone on to fully understand but I just wanted to say that you shouldn't let anyone drive you away. I take things far too personally and can take things the wrong way, when that happens I just avoid those people / threads until I'm feeling better and not so annoyed / upset by the comments.

please dont go. ive always liked reading your posts. you're one of the people that stick out here on wp and its not because you're a drama queen. you always seemed straight talking but not insensitive way-you seemed to care about people, slightly cynical but thats not a bad thing. it was refreshing actually. being sensitive and caring about other people opinions doesnt make you weak it makes you stronger and you're not a waste of time and if you post a lot on these parts then thats not at all a bother- its what it is for. i know it might seem empty to say this as well seeing as i have no idea what your situation is except that youve been depressed for some time but if you're having a hard time finding your way then wait it out a little. things dont always get better but they might and even if they dont they might become tolerable. you're young and there is plenty of room for change. keep going even if it is only for the hope of a better future if not happier times now.

Awwwwe your not a waste of time or a bother. I can understand taking a break form WP to do something else but please don't delete your account. Maybe once in a while you'll find something cool to post or you might get depressed and want someone to talk to. I have really low self esteem too and sometimes I need to take a break from my friends whether they be online or people I see in real life. Don't cut yourself short and don't cut yourself off. You've had cool posts on here that I think helped other people feel like they weren't dealing with certain issues alone.

well someone made it clear to me that I am an obvious drama queen and that I waste everyones time, they were not trying to insult me or anything just being nice but honest I guess so yeh its probably better I do...

Being as people have the option of choosing what posts to read and what posts not to read, I don't see how you could possibly be wasting anyone's time. If a person reads a post they find wastes their time, then they alone are responsible.

I don't think you should put so much weight on the opinion of this person.

I have found your postings to be appropriate contributions to the forum. Please consider the benefits you derive from the forum, and the help and insight that your posts provide, ahead of the possibility that you might detract from other users enjoyment.

Just so you know, I can't remember ever having seen you say anything I dislike, and I'm often quick to start disliking people. I hope you don't leave. I think you seem like an unusually good and likeable person. You do post a lot about things that trouble you, but the only bad thing about it is that you are so down, so often. I hope you can feel better, soon... maybe go on that Occupy Wall Street thing, again, that you mentioned, before? Any new events regarding that, soon?
