Due to the consequences of 'peak oil' there's going to be a large die-off soon. I wouldn't worry about being 84.

Your post starts as a e-mail to God; what do you really want to happen? We wouldn't be here on this site if we didn't all feel similarialy isolated and disenfranchised ourselves- we're here for you. Let us help, what do you really need right now to keep going?

Silly me, I had you confused with someone else. But I saw you were in pain and it seemed to me that people were mocking you, so I reacted. Silly me again. Carry on.

Every night when I went to sleep as a child I prayed not to wake up. I couldn't understand why I was being punished while so many people around me were happy. But I wanted out. Things did get better for me; mostly because of new medications that help my mind to function. I still feel like a defective reject, but I figure it's not my business to destroy life; even my own.
I don't know what you've been through, so I'm hesitant to offer advice. But sometimes I think maybe my life is necessary in some cosmic sort of way and I'd hate to rock the boat with an act of self-destruction. It would be like infusing the universe with my negative engery and I'd rather try to bear it myself.

Peak oil and catastrophic climate change will mean that our world, society, and culture are all about to change drastically. The scientist on this link believes that 90% of the human population of the planet will die off within 10 years:

http://cid-yama.livejournal.com/371577.html

Primarily due to the methane bomb that Al Gore warned about in his 'Inconvienent truth' series, he has evidence that this bomb has started to go off. That the magnitute of methane releases in the Arctic are 3 orders of magnitute higher than expected. Game over for human industrial civilization.

What are some other scientists' opinions on that, Repent?

Life is precious. Whether it's bad or good or what. I personally got pretty scared reading that article even though I don't want to live more than every other day. That makes me want to live.

I ask myself that question all the time. I'm a little older than you, but I don't see the point in living anymore. I lost my best friend, my ONLY friend Labor Day and can't seem to move on and be happy. I want to go home to be with Timmy. :(

Repent, that sounds like one of those really stupid "faith promoting stories" that get passed around the internet every so often. God doesn't exist, ok? Some guy asks God for a "path" and instead gets a really dumb dream, and then takes it as what he's seeking? Sorry, I don't buy it.

If that's true, then much of the rest of earth's life will be extinct, too. Take away enough of the "supports" consisting of simpler life forms and pretty soon you get megafauna (like humans) toppling. It is generally accepted that we are now in an extinction pattern similar to the dieoff of the dinosaurs, when 70% of life died. The Permian extinction is the outlier, with 95% of earth's life dying. I personally would rather not die in a city, however. I'd better work towards that land in Oregon I want soon-I'd rather die alone.
