Just call and say circumstances changed, the worst you get is another no.
Anyway, if you can consider renting a place to live in a city with good public transport. Then you will be quite flexible as to where to live and work.

What profession have you educated for?

I already cancelled it. Don't worry. I've completely given up on that job opportunity.

So...living by myself in the city? As a woman, that's not safe. Harrisburg is known for crime. If I'm living with a city, it's going to be with someone i know and trust and preferably can beat up gangstas. >.<

Writing, editing, little graphic design. Pretty much a useless degree.

There are cities with low crime rate, and alright work, culture, social, living, and public transport offerings.

I like your "tree", ever considered to offer tailor made illustrations online?, no commute etc..

Sorry, I just wouldn't feel safe on my own, regardless of where I am. I'm super paranoid and I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. I have a hard enough time sleeping now. We bought little things to reinforce the locks on our house and it has helped me sleep a little better. :(

Lol, I didn't draw the tree. I googled "cherry blossom tree" and found it. I wish I could draw that well. I'm more of a writer anyway.

Also, mopeds are expensive and you need a license to operate them as well, correct? :/

Generally not for a moped. Those are the small motorized scooters that people who lost their licenses (DUI's) drive to work. Motorcycles require a license.

It's too late, I canceled the interview. Besides, there's no public transit in that area. I can't move out on my own without a car, otherwise I'd be stranded in my new apartment. I was doing a temp job, that's what I just got fired from because, ya know, I'm a temp and therefore I'm disposable. I just can't leave right now, I just don't have the skill needed to survive on my own yet. If I had a license and a car, I would have already been gone. I'm sorry, I just can't do it. I'm too much of a failure to do it. >.<

House-sharing isn't that bad. I've done it; whilst you may end up living with total idiots, your landlord has an incentive for you to not get killed if you're paying your rent. If you get a good letting agent, they take that sort of thing seriously. Plus, if you don't like where you're living, you could find some place else. Or share with students. In my country, a non-student living with students means that you have sole responsibility for the property tax, but students are usually laid back people to live with.

The worst that can happen if you move to the city is that you lose your job and have to go home again. In that case, you wouldn't be any worse off than where you started. I think it's definitely worth the risk.

Honestly, I think it would be worse because then my mom would be like, "HA see? You can't live without me! You're never allowed to leave again!" Probably exaggerated a bit but still. >.<

Sole responsibility for the property tax? So I'll be paying for all the freeloading students? f**k that. I won't be making the kind of money. I also don't want to babysit a bunch of drunken students and helping with their homework and all that s**t. I'm not their mother and I know that's what will end up happening. I have the degree, therefore I'll have to be the responsible one. I also don't want to be constantly moving because I'm not satisfied. That's a lot of paperwork I have to adjust to a new address. It's very tedious and I want to do it only once if at all possible. :/

Why is everyone saying I have to move out? I don't have the survival skills to do it. I'll be killed or homeless within the first year. I wouldn't survive on my own and I'm NOT rooming with people I don't know. Absolutely not. I need a car first and then I can move out. Doing this out of order would be disastrous. >.<

As for what your relatives say, ignore them. And if you dare and they won't kick you out. Tell them shut up, scream if you need. To make the point. But leave them alone if the return the favor.

What you have might be a gordian knot, it might require some unusual strategy or taking calculated risks.

I can't tell them to shut up as that would be disrespectful.

At least don't let their opinions run your life.

No one said moving out was easy. If you really are that concerned about your survival skills, just wait until you get thrown out.

I'm just not financially ready yet. I just lost my job. How am I supposed to pay for my own place? It's BS. I don't have a car so it's not like I can just apply for a job and move to that job. I would still have to drive to get to the job, unless I am within walking distance to a bus. I was thinking of staying home until my bf gets his own place early next year and I could move in with him. That way, I'd be able to live there while looking for a job, so long as he keeps his job. Since they are investing in him to take classes, I don't think they are looking to fire him. I guess I have to wait it out and hope I find something close to home. >.<

He knows that you're intending to move in with him as soon as he moves out and you live rent free until you get a job?

If you BF offers you to stay with him. Then grab the chance for a job that can finance a driving license asap.

Which is why I want to work for a while after I get a car to make payments and save up some money so I can pay some bills around the house until I get a job. I know he would most likely want me to keep my money until I apply for a job or at least pay for food if nothing else.

Keyman - He already offered. He just doesn't have the apartment yet. So by the time he can afford to move, I should have a job and hopefully enough money for a car. He says he'll teach me to drive since he knows more about cars and is a lot calmer in the car than my mom is. :)
