No, the internet troll. Basically someone who can really annoy the heck out of people with rude remarks and ignorance. Most often, they come with bad spelling as well, and tend to come under the age of 15.

I satisfy the last requirement of a troll, but hopefully not the others.

no no no

kbabz thats NOT what a troll is

this is:

An internet troll is an insult used by hypocrites who can be either:

1. A person who brings life to a tired, dull internet message board by purposeful attempts to start flame wars or Internet drama by posting comments that are patently absurd, yet still inflammatory enough to enrage the stupid, irrational and humorless. The moment someone points out that the troll in question was just gunning for a reaction usually results in a fire drill. For a more in-depth example of trolling, click here.
2. A person that throws around the troll insult to: anyone who defeats them in an argument, anyone points out facts the real troll doesn't want people to know, or someone the real troll picks at random to stick falsely with a troll label for sheer lulz. This second type of troll is 99.999% of all trolls now and is often called an Anti-troll.
3. A person affiliated with the group Bantown, commonly known for their lulz. GNAA IS DEAD, JEWS KILLED GNAA.

As a verb, "to troll" is probably a corruption of "trawl." Troll is fine as a verb since trawling for comments and flames is innate troll behavior. A "Troll" is a mythical monster that lives under a bridge and surprises people who try and cross the bridge with some bizarre puzzle or challenge that they must complete before crossing. It has been suggested that people who lurk in groups and suddenly enter discussions with unwanted and provocative contributions inspire the same type of fear in law-abiding netizens. More rational people know that Trolls are, in fact, monsters who live under a bridge, probably in Utah, who flocked to the information superhighway after real superhighways were declared obsolete by Al Gore.

Novice trolls often experience troll's remorse. Such feelings tend to pass once they realize that people who take the Internets seriously enough to get upset by trolling really ought to get over themselves. Once they reach this point, they are said to suffer from Internet troll personality disorder. After long enough, they may even develop Chronic Troll Syndrome.

trolls deliberately create flaming/attention/drama on boards for lulz, cool trolls such as myself are great gainers of lulz

im such a l33t troll i ignore my own pleas to 'not feed the troll' beca use it creates more drama, and there fore more lulz. im so l33t and cool troller i dont mind admitting it and being obvius in my trolling. because 2 trollers = drama llama lulz 8)

by callinh him a troll i am creating a flame war/troll debate which brings attention and drama, thus making myself a troll, but im so leet about it i admit what im doing 8)

I think the only thing saving you from a banning is the fact that you've been here awhile and Alex can't bear to see you go because the forum wouldn't be the same. If you were a noob, however, you'd be banned from this forum so fast that you wouldn't even get past tufted titmouse. :P

i doubt that very much, as i have broken no rules. i am not the one creating multiple users and stalking people

i am merely providing humour, nothing bannable. if creating drama llama via trolling myself, is that really so bad?

As long as you don't troll me, I don't really mind. 8) I don't mind you posting but it's not really worth trolling anyone (if you supposedly are that is) you're just wasting your time doing that.

j00 r troll. But Lord Greyhelium is right. Sometimes trolls are needed to keep a forum interesting. Just try not to get banned.

No, but I think that you have exhibited some troll-like behavior on the threads in question.

My suggestions would be as follows:

1. If a thread looks like it is out of hand, avoid it. The thread that started this whole problem was way out of control before you ever posted to it. When I realized that the thread was a problem, I promptly deleted my responses because I didn't want to be involved.

2. Ignore the person who is starting the controvercial threads. He is clearly a troll, and the fact that people have started replying to his threads is egging him on.

3. If people don't agree with you about the topic at hand, give them the benefit of the doubt that they are NOT trying to troll your comments. It is possible that they want to have an intelligent discussion about current events - most people in that forum seem to legitimately want to do that. Don't ASSUME that someone is a troll unless they have proven themselves to be a troll through repeated posts.

In regard to number 2, I just have my way with the trolls. Much more fun than just ignore them.
