Oh, dear. Well, trade school isn't for "idiots." That's a common line of BS they fed our generation-- I think it was a conspiracy to make money from dragging more people to college. It's for people who don't care for or mesh with the college career world and don't care to spend their working years pushing a broom or shoveling fries.

Wish I'd told all the people who said I was so smart I had to go to college to piss off and gone to trade school instead. I'd be a mechanic or carpenter or something I'm actually interested in instead of having a liberal arts degree that bores the s**t out of me.

Sounds like you'll be well shut of your folks the minute you are of age, OP. Their problems aren't your fault. I have some sympathy for your dad-- being what everyone else wants to see is exhausting and leaves nothing for the ones you really love-- but it was his choice for whatever reason to do that, so my sympathy is also limited.

I never said trade school was for idiots. Hell, I want to go to art school. Art and musics are where all my passions of feasible careers lie.

I imagine I will be shut off...and it is going to suck. But I've survived a lot of s**t so far and can survive that too.

I hope you find a job you love.

I am the middle kid out of three brothers. I was not diagnosed as a child and stumbled through school if it wasn't for a couple of select teachers I would probbaly be living on the street. Fortunatly I found a trade that clicked with aspergers. Trade school is deffinatly not a bad thing. I had way more fun in trade school versus college. College sucked for me.

If I don't have money for my phone bill, I don't have money for a trade school. I tried going to college last year; I did really well, got chicky and screwed up. Idk if I have it in me to stick with most things, since I don't have a support system. (by that I mean I don't have parents on my side or ant type of safety net if I fail. I put my all into something and fail, theonly place I have to end up is a shelter.)

But yeah, i've always thought trade school was for trailer trash and people who aren't very bright. Like becoming a hairdresser or something
