That actually depends on where the OP is located. The United States does have criminal penalties for copyright infringement, absurdly enough. See 17 U.S.C. §506. See also 18 U.S.C. §2319.

Actually, 17 U.S.C. §506 applies only to those knowingly violating copyright on works valued at over $1000 or those profiting from the violation.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you get something that is an actual legal threat, and in that case just write back and let them know who is doing it. You can actually just blow off stuff like that pretty easily if you try.
