1 week ago. That's fine with me. If I get another one soon, that's fine too.

I don't like meaningless/casual touching as well but I did grow to appreciate a hug. It's not so much the touching but more about the act of someone finding my person palatable and understanding me... I used to get get annoyed when my mother hugged me.. it's been 6 years since she passed and i miss it now.... because there is no one out there who cares enough to give me a hug.

Christmas Eve. Two of the women I work with hugged me when they wished me Merry Christmas, which was fine. I don't mind hugs that I expect, I just don't like it when people lunge at me unexpectedly.

So many sad people here claim they don't want hugs!

If you don't feel anything when you're being hugged,.. then they're not doing it right..

That is simply not true. Many people on the spectrum genuinely dislike being touched. Just because you like being touched, do not assume that all others feel the same way. Not everybody is like you.

Personally I am not one of the people who has a touch phobia. I love hugs, but there is nobody to hug me except my dog. So I cuddle into him, and he's all nice and soft and warm. :)

I don't have a touch phobia, but I have fibromyalgia, and I am a very private person, so I only like hugs from those I'm really close to and who are gentle, cuddly in their hugging. I've had hugs from people that HURT - too hard, too brisk or ... something wasn't right. So I don't typically want hugs. My husband is the usual hugger I go to. He's gentle and almost always willing.
