Thank you everyone for your replies. Even acknowledgement helps me, because I usually hide my problems from everyone. Since I don't "look sick", I rarely get any sympathy anyway. Just reading your messages gives me a boost of self-esteem. I truly appreciate it and am also sorry for your own personal struggles.

Jennyishire, I broke down and bought a Kindle yesterday. I should have bought one ages ago! It's so light and easy to read. Since I can adjust the font, I can even prop it up on a pillow in my lap. I had to use savings to buy it, but I think that's okay since it helps me.

I think the Kindle is a great idea- it has obvious advantages for anyone with limited use of their hands. My friend hasn't invested in one yet because he accesses most of his reading material at no cost through his local library, so he is reluctant to start paying to download books.

I hope that your new Kindle helps to keep you nicely entertained and distracted, especially during your current snowy weather.
