Because:

1. Suicide solves nothing.

2. AS/ASD is not a disease, horrible or otherwise.

3. Suicide Statistics do not support your premise that "most", or even any of us will commit suicide.

4. The rest of the world likely couldn't care less, one way or the other, about our existence - they're mostly indifferent, not hostile.

You seem to be feeling some degree of anger and frustration. Have you considered seeking professional counseling?

Because I have a husband and son and I would find killing myself to be very selfish.

I agree with everything that Fnord said.

I hate to say it but in my case I don't really have a good answer for that, I am sure others with AS have good reason not to though.

because the OP sees no realistic hope of getting past his intrinsic behavioral and relational limitations sufficient to attract a mate.

So here I am damned to be miserable my whole life and just play with inane adult toys (cars) and adult games (sports.)

when you get to be my [old] age, if you could step into the WABAC machine and confront your younger self, you might well tell yourself face-to-face: "YOU ARE STILL YOUNG!! ! you have TIME left to change course! don't just wait for the decades to pass by 'til you become me! if you luck into finding a halfway reasonably suitable mate who loves you to pieces, STEP UP TO THE PLATE right then and there, take a big gulp, and TELL HER, NEXT TIME!! !" that is what i would tell my younger self, had i your good fortune to have had somebody suitable who actually liked me, back in the day.

Don't make that "something" a person though.

Even a crippled bird watching his better brothers flying high in the sky can keep himself amused with the crumbs they failed to see on the ground.

Because I actually do think m hubby and kids would sink like a boulder (or at least struggle seriously for a long time) if I wasn't here helping run the show.

Because even though I have some rrrrrrreeeeaaaaaallllllllllyyyyyyyyy crappy days, I'm still having fun.

Cause as far as I'm concerned, there are some NTs out there who are polluting my perfectly good Aspie gene pool. See some references to my in-laws (don't worry, Honey, you're a de novo mutation in my book).

Because I'm sick of the bastards winning, and I'm not about to do them any favors.

I've had a much better idea.

We, as a group, need to engineer a 3rd world war. I say this for one reason, aspies will of course be 4F's so long as they don't do too much to hide their meltdowns.. and all the NT's will go off and get themselves killed.

Then, when they are thinned out a bit.. people won't have any choice but to go for the aspies..

Quote:
But I, that am not shaped for sportive tricks,
Nor made to court an amorous looking-glass;
I, that am rudely stamp'd, and want love's majesty
To strut before a wanton ambling nymph;
I, that am curtail'd of this fair proportion,
Cheated of feature by dissembling nature,
Deformed, unfinish'd, sent before my time
Into this breathing world, scarce half made up,
And that so lamely and unfashionable
That dogs bark at me as I halt by them;
Why, I, in this weak piping time of peace,
Have no delight to pass away the time,
Unless to spy my shadow in the sun
And descant on mine own deformity:
And therefore, since I cannot prove a lover,
To entertain these fair well-spoken days,
I am determined to prove a villain
And hate the idle pleasures of these days.
Plots have I laid, inductions dangerous,
By drunken prophecies, libels and dreams,
To set my brother Clarence and the king
In deadly hate the one against the other:
And if King Edward be as true and just
As I am subtle, false and treacherous,
This day should Clarence closely be mew'd up,
About a prophecy, which says that 'G'
Of Edward's heirs the murderer shall be.
Dive, thoughts, down to my soul: here
Clarence comes.

It is not a good point. I can't believe you even entertained this thought. What would people notice??? What did people notice about the Heavens Gate suicides??? What did it change?

If people knew WHY a thousand aspies did this, you don't think it would raise the question of how we treat them? Of course heaven's gate didn't change a thing- they weren't making a statement!

Heaven's Gate wasn't a statement, and it wasn't in front of the White House.
