Well see what he's like if he comes back again. I was intrigued enough to check his post history and there is not much substance there.

The troll quota seems to have gone up since schools closed for summer, that guy also signed up on christmas day too. probably just another bored kid.

And no, I don't expect much from the founder either.

I know what you mean.
I had a look through his post history as well, but he only has about 35 posts .... and little of any substance.

Ah... school holidays, eh ?
Is that what much of the trollish surge is caused by ?
I do wish that more parents would behave like grown-ass adults by raising their kids to be decent human beings - rather than obnoxious little brats, but well... I dersay that there will always be people who raise brats if they feel like it.

A lot of the time, the parents are unaware of what their kids are up to.

I guess, but many parents make no effort to teach their children that being abusive and bullying other people is not okay.
Some parents are abusive bullies themselves, setting a bad role model for their children through demonstration.

Some parents keep PCs in family areas, to try and avoid this kind of thing from happening online.
Some other parents don't bother, because they don't really care so much what their kid gets up to online.

And some parents even encourage their children to be bullies too.

The lack of timely intervention can be frustrating. Its not like there is a rapid troll reponse team. Its especially frustrating when you do report something but never hear back and the post is not dealt with. I have only tried the Administartor once, no response, and I am pretty sure they do not get involved with the day to day running of the forum any more, and which isn't uncommon really. Most rests on the volunteers, several of which are regularly involved. There are others I hardly see at all. I understand when people more or less move on, but it would be good in this situation to let them go and take on new mods from the current regulars. Some would like the opportunity. (Not me btw. Have tried it and it isn't a good match for me)

Ladywoofwoof, I'm sorry you had to put up with this type of behaviour, which I must admit is rare on WP and one usually expects better substance from fellow WP members. But I guess some people, including bored NT youngsters, find the site and decide to unload a whole lot of insulting BS on it, especially when they discover that the folk here are often perceived as "weak" or "bullied". Cyber bullying is a menace of the Internet that really has to be dealt with severely.

I've seen very insulting posts on various NT sites, especially when they involve political or religious issues, (seldom threats, however) and it makes me realise how, in general, there's more respect, maturity and respect for others' viewpoints here on WP than elsewhere on the Net.

Trolls are best ignored, as sitting behind a computer screen makes them feel important, like a megalomaniacal movie villain, trying to control things while hiding behind the anonymity of the Internet.

What bothers me most, is that vulnerable people, such as some of us on these forums, who have problems with anxiety, depression and the like, can take it more personally than they need to, and it can influence their emotional or physical health.
