I know it's dumb, but I feel like I'm feeding skibum to him! Cows or chickens on the other hand (even though I like them too), I have no problem with. Go figure! Bunnies though, maybe it because they look a little like cats.

I also thought this thread was about child abuse. I'm sure your cat will forgive you.

When I read the title, it reminded me of an episode of "Cold Case" that me and my folks watched a week or so ago.

That bath was a while ago now, he forgave me later that night. Also, happily his itching seems to be greatly lessened now. FYI - Bunny food makes smelly poop!

I really do hate it when they don't understand why you are doing something though. Those great big kitty eyes staring at you like that.

OH well, all is well. Thanks again for all the kind thoughts.

I hope your cat is under the care of a veterinarian.
Don't feed it rabbit food as cats should only eat meat and certainly not dairy products as they have trouble digesting those.

Have you been to a vet because the allergy could be flea related as some cats are allergic to flea bites.

I don't feed him rabbit food (sorry, it was my wording). I feed him Rabbit Cat Kibble, special food that only has rabbit and one other ingredient, I forget which that is though. Yes, he's been to the vet.

Is your kitty only allergic to chicken?

I don't know what caused it, I'm was trying several different things, one of them worked or maybe all of them together. The problem with chicken though is that most other cat foods like duck (which I accidentally bought not realizing this), still have chicken in them. To get one that doesn't have chicken you have to buy a real expensive type of cat food that only has two ingredients in it. In his case, bunnies.

just make those unpleasant occasions something the cat knows will "pay" for special rare treats.

I understand you now.
My 18 year old is currently on a mix of kibble for his hip joints and another for hairball control, sadly these are both chicken meal based but I'm sure there's a tuna based variety. I buy these online at a fraction of the cost of both the vet and pet shop.

Hey dude, I haven't talked to you in a while. Hope you are doing ok.
I try to do exactly what you say when I'm doing things like squirting oil down his throat with a dropper, he gets a treat right after. But treats in the bath when he's squirming like crazy and slathered with shampoo. Not sure how to do that. I did massage him though, but even that didn't help much.

Cats get lonesome too and worried, not just dogs. They know your routine, so if you have to leave the house at an unusual (for you) time or stay away longer, when you get home they're looking out the window, wondering. And they act so happy. I figure mine always thinks she'll never see me again :(

odd. If a cat has itchy ears, they try to get me to scratch inside them for them.

She likes me to scratch inside them. But as soon as I get out the cotton balls and the TrizUltra and Keto flush the vet gave me, she either runs away before I can get to her or does the squirming thing if I've managed to grab her first. The vet said to let some trickle in, and I knew she wouldn't stand for that, but I figured rubbing with a cotton ball would be close enough to me just scratching with my finger. But no :(

The poor kitty...

My turtles freak out when water is poured into the tank and frantically swim into the walls.

aside from being cripple up somewhat [back] am still alive. give kitty teeny morsel of something he normally can't resist, to entice him to voluntarily enter tub, then another morsel when he submits to water stream, then another morsel as you wash him. then another morsel at end as you are drying him. coo and pet him and scratch his jowls all the way through.
