Alcohol pretty much turns everyone into a jerk.

I know this to be quite true, yet I somehow manage to subconsciously convince myself to continue to consume that nasty substance and in excess, what's so wrong with having a beer and ordering water(I really only wanted one to begin with) after but no I gotta go and over-do it, and why the hell would I think it a good idea to get drunk if I was feeling bad vibes, that is probably a good reason to keep ones wits about them...not impair the frontal lobe so frustration and disappointment is even harder to deal with guess I figured I might actually enjoy the show if I was too drunk to notice that so had more than I needed against my better judgement. Not to mention getting fed up enough to have a meltdown while drunk...granted I am sure other audience members have done just as bad if not worse than me, though that's not excuse for it, concert security and such is probably used to it, I think I have a better understanding of how crappy of a job that could be having to deal with things like that on a regular basis.

It would seem i can not change the title of this to something more realistic, though I guess at the time I did actually feel that way...truth be told I am still trying to distract myself from thinking of if the world would be better off without me over-all, but still that would not be the method of choice, pretty sure something passed that if you're diagnosed with mental illness you can't buy guns anyways...and I hear by that method you miss out on the DMT like trip that can occur as you die, don't want to miss that...

Ok still dark thoughts, but I wont act on it this time...well so long as there aren't any really stupid things I did that I cannot remember that will bite me in the a**, I wasn't totally black out drunk but enough to where there are blank bits in the memory of the whole night. what if they track down my address, and I did something that actually was severe enough 'misconduct' to be serious enough that i might have to stress about cops....I think the worst thing I did was flip off the security through the window and tell a couple passerbys that it was a terrible venue and they should never waste their money there.

I used to drink like that a few years back. I would drink 'til I passed out. Actually I still do that, but I'm snoring after two glasses of wine. Lol. I stopped needing to drink that way after I started taking Seroquel. Whatever effect I was trying to achieve by drinking myself into a coma, it is fulfilled by this drug. Doctors never believe this is true, but I think excessive drinking can be the result of attempting self medication. Don't know if this is the case with you though.

As you probably know Sweetleaf, combining substances usually maximises the effects of both. I know people who have little problem with alcohol until they combine it with grass and then they often lose it bigtime and have a temporary change of personality (always for the worse) and sometimes they do very inappropriate things which they later regret mightily.

Not to be insensitive, but is this category the "my life sucks" section? 8O

I see so many unhappy people. Are they all beating a dead horse too?

There are times where they are beating a dead horse.

Well technically speaking it is the closest thing we have to a 'my life sucks' section....either way this forum is for talking about stuff that's getting you down so figured this would be the best place to put a post like this.

I once bought into the cultural myth that drinking copious amounts of alcohol equated to enhanced pleasure. And that is exactly what it is - a cultural myth that is so pervasive that it trumps the better judgement of countless people throughout the world time and time again, even after it had been repeatedly proven false.

I almost once got myself kicked out of a concert because I consumed too many beers and puked into a large trash can. I managed to talk my way out of that by saying it was acid reflux, and amazingly enough, they bought that line. I would not want to go down that road again, however.

In any case, all of life is a learning experience. Some people in the world act like pricks, but that is their f*****g problem, not your's. Your words have been helpful to me in the past, and I get the impression that you are a decent person. I have done and said inappropriate things in moments of frustration that have brought me intense feelings of shame, even though my intellect know that the people I did these things to most likely would forget about them less than a week later. You are not alone in this.

Concerts are really sucky places. I started liking them more (during and after the fact, instead of just before) by learning to stick to outdoor venues with lawn seats (unless they were very subdued events, like the middle school chorus concert or a MountainStage show).

Outside, far from stage = GOOD.

Inside, close to stage, jammed in with lots of other people = BAD.

Now I'm old and crotchety and I prefer to stay home and stream it online. ROCK ON DUDE!! As I wave my cane appreciatively at the screen... Ah, yes, THIS is where I belong. YMMV.

If I lived in europe that may be more of a possibility, since they have those outdoors metal fests and such...they don't have anything like that here it doesn't seem, well they do have outdoor festivals but usually mostly bands I have no desire to see. Sadly most bands I like tend to preform inside smaller venues...at least when they tour in the states, seems none of the large outdoor venues want to have any kind of extreme music or anything that's not mainstream...

Anyways thanks for all responses, at least now I don't feel like the only one...it sucks if others of you have had experiences like this, let alone repeated ones, but I guess at least I am not the only one so don't gotta mentally beat myself up so much over it. In the end life happens, people f*** up and make asses of themselves and the world keeps turning.

At least people on here are sympathetic and don't bash people, or at least I haven't witnessed that. But you probably just need to find better 'in real life' mates and find something you all really like doing as a group. Like, I enjoy playing pool so meeting others that are interested in pool is a plus. Or I like to talk about the music I like. I'm something of an educationalist.
