The one great saving grace in human life is that we don't have to relive the past. You know better, you do better.
What happened to us is not who we are; it's what happened, then. The challenge is to make the shift from reaction to past fear (which is still presenting) and to current options and possibility. You can do it, Amity. I know that you can. It makes it hard and harder to move forward if we are always looking back (just imagine for a moment trying to drive a car like that!) We go forward safely only by focusing on what is ahead.

Options and possibility eh... The outlook is indeed different now to what it was a year ago. There are options that didn't exist then.

 B19, you are one nice lady

Yep....the world is your oyster, and it's not hard to open the oyster to reveal an opalescent pearl.

It might be nice to be a pearl fisher, minus the drama of course. :)

I forget exactly where they do it--some place like the Phillipines or something---

Reminds me of a song from the 50's: "Diamonds and Pearls"

It made me think of the The Pearl by John Steinbeck, and also The Pearl Fishers' Duet

Amity: your expansive, inductive mind will take you places.

These days I expect things to go horribly wrong, and then I am like "not my problem".

Just an update, the sky didn't fall in!
I have felt very anxious, but the first two days have been ok, the location is good, and the company is ok too!
