You are all awesome. I thank each and every one of you for taking the time to reach out to me and try to make me feel a bit better.

I ended up going out yesterday but didn't get to listen to any of my favorite music because I am borrowing a vehicle and it doens't have an iPod connection on the stereo, so I listened to my daughter's Blink 182 CD. Then when I got home I found a marathon of Metal Evolution on VH1classic so that was awesome and completely reversed my mood.

Then I saw the statement by LilyEskelson Garcia talking about special needs students who are included in classrooms where she mentioned the blind, the deaf, and the "Chronically tarded and medically annoying" and that gave me something else to focus my outrage on. So I feel better now about that I guess. Rather focus on a bigger bully like her.

I did report the person to twitter but got no response. I blocked him the following day. I had to not block him at first so I could see all that he was slamming me with so I could report it all, but I've moved on now. Plus I have a cat sleeping next to me and she's soft and warm

AND

I realized that my Special Interest Number One (a musician) has just announced he's coming back to the USA for another leg of his tour this spring and even though there's only a small handful of dates, one is at the venue where I saw him last time and so I can see him again, and that's a HUGE deal because I have glaucoma and right now I *can* actually SEE him and I got to meet him last time after the show and I told him I might lose my sight but my hearing is fine, but til it goes I'm spending my time seeing him perform as may times as possible and he is COMING BACK in SPRING!! !! *squeeeeeeeeeeeeee*

I know you're not near Albany.....because I mentioned Hoosick Falls, and you hadn't heard of it.....but I did forget what part of Upstate you reside.

As you noticed, I reside in the City.

You should have told that person to just take a long walk off a short pier, instead of letting him get to you. He's just some idiot on the internet.

I live in upstate NY but on the PA border. So weird to me that it's "upstate". Nearish to Binghamton. I have driven to Albany before for concerts but I have no sense of direction (including left/right a lot of the time) so depend on GPS, which isn't like a map in so far as I don't actually get to see the names of surrounding towns while navigating. SO unless I"ve been there, most of NY is still a mystery to me despite having driven to most corners of it in my life (Jamestown, Palmira - up above Watertown [up/above is the same thing as "north" to me], NYC (I"ve been to Radio City Music Hall and Best Buy Theater and Hammerstein Ballroom; as a kid I also stood on the top of the World Trade Center and Empire State Buildings during a school trip), Buffalo, Rochester, Albany - been to them all but no idea what's near any of them). :)

So sorry you had this happen to you. People are jerks and for some reason the internet brings out the idiots and cowards and lets them anonymously or sort of anonymously give vent to their nastiness.

I would go with KraftieKortie on this one. Everyone gets picked on at times, but i would go eat some ice cream, or listen to music, or something that makes you happy. The stupid idiots are truly not worth your time.

I don't let my kids do social media of any kind except txt and facetime with a few people we know and trust. My children are generally liked and can hold their own at school--but i don't need them worried about that one person who wants to be hateful to them. I like this forum and occasionally read hubby's facebook...but even that is usually not worth my time. The beauty of internet is that you can turn off the nasty people. Hide them, unfriend, or just shut down the device. You can't turn off their nastiness, but you hold the power as to what you will do with it.

Hope your day gets better! ((hugs)) to you.

I like Binghamton. Nice little city.

I like driving through the area starting with the Endless Mountains in Pennsylvania, and ending by the Native American reservation just south of Syracuse.

I just read your original post. I am so sorry you went through that. It's horrible. Absolutely horrible. And just so you know, you are not "nobody". Definitely not to me anyway. It is very hard to get over something as vile as that. I am so sorry you were treated that way.

This is why I don't use social media much. Mostly stay away from Facebook and I've never had a problem with Twitter. But those type of people are always lurking for someone to pick on. I'm sorry that it happened to you. :(

You guys (meant to be gender-neutral in case that isn't clear :) ) are all so kind and awesome and sweet. Thank you so much for your kind words and reassurances, etc. I got notice from Twitter yesterday or the day before finally that said they locked this person's account for violation of their terms of service. Yay! I'm so glad they did the right thing.

Jen - are you anywhere around the part of NY that I'm near? I have no idea where to reach out for resources around here.. just figured I'd ask since you mentioned that you're from NY as well.

People who bully others like that online are jerks. I came across a lot of people like that when I played League of Legends...and they're why I quit playing it. Love the game, hate the community.

But I digress. I don't use social media often, and what I do use is pretty much just Twitter (rarely) and Google+ (to rate and/or log in to other sites). I haven't been bullied like that except in LoL. Real life is a different story though. Bullied all the way up until high school. I can sympathize with you pretty well, my friend.

Have you tried blocking him or blocking him from tweeting you? What about changing your username?
