How can I deal with a tactless user on WP?

What does the "foe" feature do? I understood it to be a block feature, but maybe I was mistaken? :?:

As you might guess, I've never used it. I can just scroll past people who annoy me.

I don't think Naturalplastic meant any harm.

I just think he was curious, and perhaps a bit stunned about things he hasn't been exposed to previously.

And maybe he wanted to kid around with you, too.

Probably. It's way harder to tell when people are joking online. I've just had trauma about one teacher mocking my special interest in front of the whole class. I often feel like people are attacking my special interest when they're not. I also got upset because I felt like he was calling me an incompetent pervert. I didn't start this thread to get him in trouble. I mainly started it to deal with my own feelings. That's why it's in the haven instead of WP discussions.

^^If it works as on other forums I've used, all it does is to prevent those people from sending you a private message - there's not usually any effect on what public postings you see.

Hmm. Have you said that everyone has different interests and allow you to have your interests.

Or maybe ignore it.

I've never had a problem of people being rude to me on WP.

People have different sensitivities to others. What doesn't affect one poster could easily affect someone else. It's not so much that the person didn't intend to offend. Just need to think a little about the other person that what you post won't be misconstrued as potentially upsetting for the other person. It's a bit of a balance between self censorship and freedom to express yourself.

I'm normally pretty neutral towards people on this forum. I do have one issue with an L&D poster. He's very ignorant about different sexual orientations and it drives me crazy.

They want to get in the last word. And they want to seem right, even when the truth is staring them in the face.

They're Aspies...but they are Human, too.

The Conservatives don't like the Liberals, and vice versa. And that's the US in a nutshell.
