I often feel that even the things I enjoy most like music making become meaningless and boring sometimes.
I have a Christian view point on the matter, though. Would you mind if I share it?
I'm an agnostic myself. But there might be others reading this, who would benefit/want to hear your christian point of view. So if you want to share it or not, is up to you.
Froya,
Thank you kindly. I do have some dear friends who are also agnostic.
To say that I find meaning in Christ might seem cliché. But it is the truth. Nothing seems to bring me any lasting enjoyment or sense of meaning unless I know that God is in it. This is simply my experience.
Even though you are agnostic, I think you would find the book of Ecclesiastes intellectually enlightening, if not spiritually.
It goes deeply into the meaning of life and various other observations of what happens under the sun. It's really quite interesting. For instance, here is one verse:
I have seen all the things that are done under the sun and have found everything to be futile, a pursuit of the wind.
Ecclesiastes 1:14 HCSBAnd also:
All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing.
Ecclesiastes 1:8 NIVOf course that's only from the first chapter. There's very thought provoking things in this book.
I relate so much to the above verses and often feel them deeply.
Take care, my friend!
