Well, a lot of the time ... after announcing to much protest that they are gone forever ... they come back.

I don't see the issue...it's not like he's angling for anything, he's basically just saying: I've been here forever, you guys are repetitive *hello autism*, and the site is being maintained like a 3rd world jail. None of these things are factually incorrect as unpleasant as they sound.

yeah, I think that face reading or palm reading could help you to get your answers as it lets you know about your life and you will get answers to your question. The tarot card reading could also help you but it has both negative as well as positive points....

What I am against is threads where whiny people declare they are definitely leaving, only to later declare their intent to stay. I'm only thinking about it, and trying to reach a decision before I reach 30,000 posts - which would be as good a point as any for jumping off into Internet oblivion.

Most of the posts seem to support my reasons, while the rest seem to have little or no bearing on them.

Meh ... whatever ... it's been a fun ride, but it's time to turn in my e-ticket and move on to better things.

Not really a "3rd-world jail" ... more like a sleazy motel on a two-lane interstate ...

Do you have any REALISTIC solutions?

Hey, maybe I will, and maybe I won't. But after nearly 10 posts per day (on average), I have little left to say that hasn't already been said.

I could put most of my responses into macros and just press the appropriate button when necessary ...

Anyway- to the topic at hand. Ignore the topics you don't like and move on. Why does it matter if people talk about the same stuff? It's not a rule that every topic ever should be something you love. Forums get repetitive but honestly? If you want something different- POST something different then. People wont just magically make new original topics daily just for you. Also the whole "most interesting members stopped posting years ago" comment is not only rude but unneeded. I strongly think you just need the attention so you made this topic to anger people and get attention. Your mission is successful. I hope a moderator closes this topic, because its disruptive.. period.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, its not meant to be. Just my thoughts on the matter.

I won't lie, I don't always get on with you and agree with you maybe half the time. You also have a lot of people that purely dislike you or think you're the most awesome thing since cheese strings on this site, as you would do after 8 years!

8 years is a long time though and it can make you tired, cynical, and a vet to all the problems you speak of. To quote The Dark Knight:

That's actually what's so impressive about his post count, most other posters with his numbers do play those games as they're easy post boosters, but Fnord despises them-- his post count is predominately real posts, not just one word or one number replies.
