I've lost my son.
I only read your first email, and enough of your children's replies to get the gist of their reactions.
My impression of your email was that it seemed a bit self-absorbed. You talked a lot about things that happened to you when you were a child, but you didn't talk about or ask about your children's lives. Then you ended by making demands of them. I think they'd probably be more willing to call you and respond to your emails if your interactions with them were a little less one-sided.
