why are you here? you been on this forum a vary long time. do you have a job to do, or is this for you?

For me its a place to learn to understand my self and others.
Not to save people from the world or the truth or from them selves.

a reminder that this is the haven.

for who? you? this can be a vary debatable subject. sometimes people needs to hear various truths, not one fits alls needs, societies maybe, but the individuals is another question, not all people needs societies acceptance to survive.

The point is that this is a place to go when you don't want to hear the various truths that other people think you need to hear. I might agree with you. But I don't agree with brining that attitude into a haven. This area was specifically created to give people a kinder, gentler WP when they want it.

Thanks for the advice Pollyanna.

Have you read the original book, Pollyanna? She was kick-ass. Not the wimpy, delusional happy girl that she's come to represent. The real story had a child go through terrible things and find her way through each trial with this gratitude game she played because it reminded her of her dead father, until one day, she became paralyzed and orphaned and just couldn't go on anymore. Then the community she had built came through for her and helped her out of her depression. Its a really cool story of perseverance.

It's free online. And OP, I totally recommend you read it.

I don't think so. I was using the meaning Pollyanna has gained in the popular culture as a person who states boundless and unrealistic optimism in the face of a dire situation.

You should read it! If nothing else, it will make you think twice about making negative remarks about people displaying potentially uncalled for amounts of optimism. You never know what they are going through.

Moderator note: The rules and protocol of THE HAVEN preclude argumentative debating here. Sneering and the like is is also completely out of place here. This is a dedicated support subforum and posters are reminded that continual failure to comply with the conventions will result in formal warnings.

I'm so glad you have a cat. Those little four legged critters are so good at making life livable.

I love my cat, but I love my first cat more, my first cat didn't bite me, she bite me once when she was pregnant. If cats love you then why they bite you?

could be something physical is irritating the cat, and when you handle it, it aggravates the cat's irritation.

one reason I gave up on pets is that I could never predict what would irritate them and make them bite me.

Itching with a cat or dog often means fleas. I wonder if you should switch her flea meds. You need to have her checked for fleas, because the fleas will eventually bite YOU too. And since she's basically the only reason you're still alive right now, you need to get her in to the vet NOW.

After doing some more research you should only try ECT as a last resort. First off, make sure that they give you anesthesia because some countries do ECT without anesthesia and then you have a seizure and your body thrashes around and you can break some bones. It has saved people's lives, including mine, but it has also caused severe memory problems and other problems with some people. I met a person who couldn't remember anything of her childhood after having it. However if you are severely depressed and you feel like killing yourself and medicine and therapy and everything else has failed then you might want to consider it. Just talk to a doctor about it and its potential side effects and if you should try it.
