Why don't any of my threads get replied to any more?

See, I don't always remember who people are on here, only a very few who have had the same avatar for years that just sticks in my memory. So I don't purposefully skip anyone's threads or posts (except for that one poster I mentioned). Like I said before, I do read a lot of the posts here but can't reply to every post individually.

^ And therefore not all of your posts are going to be replied to. Even if you say, "Thanks everyone", it lets people know you've acknowledged their posts.

Do you expect the op to respond to every post? Perhaps they read what you say and agree or disagree, but don't feel the need to comment. I understand where you are coming from, we all want to be acknowledged and appreciated, but perhaps you are more than you know.

Look, she wanted to know and I told her why. I didn't have to do this. Don't put words in my mouth, it is not appreciated.

Not entirely sure what I did wrong or what words I put in your mouth, but I'm sorry that I offended you.

I understand, I just wanted to point out to her while she may be annoyed by the subject many people are afraid for our future. Out of respect to the op I won't mention his name again so things stay on topic.

I do normally say thanks for the replies.

I can feel you're anxious about a lot of things, so in the past I've tried to post something a bit silly to cheer you up a little.
But I don't think that's worked, has it?
I come across silly.
Probably annoying too.

Fail.

I don't remember seeing your posts. I often make a point of replying to an unreplied thread, even if I have nothing to contribute, just to bump the topic for the OP and show them that yes, someone read their post. The problem is that threads quickly get buried, and also, unless you're on the "view new posts" feed, you have no idea that a thread has no replies.

EDIT: I just found your Social Skills thread. I think the reason might just be that no one had an answer to your question. It's difficult to know the reasons for someone else's actions or feelings. Since you were looking for an answer, people without that answer probably passed it by.

I dunno, maybe you need to make your posts more clickbaity. :P

On a more serious note, I tend to respond to posts that interest me, though I also tend to avoid posting if what I'm responding to is likely to incite a negative reaction. I don't like creating drama or controversy. As far as how I reply to your posts, I pretty much just see you as another member of WP.

Mostly due to my life being interfered with by Police State USA from one of the most corrupt counties in all of corporate-country. Cops and judges are all a bunch of criminals prancing around in their costumes who come up with the most absurdly insane and ridiculous reasons to falsely kidnap you, falsely imprison/jail you, falsely file frivolous charges against you, I mean, how the HELL do you «trespass» into an ABANDONED building!?

I would not be surprised if the lives of other members on these boards have been interfered with either. For that matter, you might be wondering why your threads are not getting replies, but I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT DECREASE in activity on these boards in comparison to how frequent posts and replies were made before. That could potentially be due to Fnord no longer being around and possibly having taken his «following» elsewhere.

It's as though people see my username and think "uh, not Joe90 again". I created a thread in the social skills and making friends thread about 2 weeks ago and still no replies, and also one in the Haven (I think), and in the GAD my posts have been killing threads that were currently popular.

I didn't think group thinking was so common among Aspies.
And no, I'm not trying to guilt people into replying to my threads, in fact I actually feel guilty writing this thread, but it's a bit strange how my threads and posts have suddenly become invisible.

Definitetly not Britain, we are soo tiny, thanks for thinking of us though

Seriously: I think people are preoccupied with either Trump or themselves. It's not you.

Yes, I am sick of hearing about Trump here.
When I make a thread I read every reply, including KraftieKorties. :)
There's only one member here I get fed up with seeing everywhere, but he never posts in any threads, just creates new threads about his tragic life. I think you all know who I'm talking about.

I came very close to ending my life after Trump was elected. I have been in a bad place ever since. I've learned my advice may not be helpful or all that insightful. I can only speak for myself, but I doubt people are avoiding you. While I may not always have something to offer in aid for your problems, I do care about what you have to say.

I'm sure your advice or care is appreciated by plenty of people :D

Joe90, when I first started coming to WP, I replied to many of your posts. Over time, I slacked off some, although I always read your posts. I guess you could say I felt I had little to contribute. You suffer from anxiety over a wide range of situations. You usually want to know if people perceive the situation the way you do. Now anxiety is defined as unrealistic fear - if the fear is realistic, then you just call that "fear." So no, often nobody else will perceive the situation as you do.

I feel as though anything I do suggest may be unhelpful, and I don't want to do that, so I don't post.

Maybe all you are wanting is social support for your distress. I don't see you changing much or taking suggestions that people have offered, so this feels a lot like another (unnamed) person who never accepts suggestions but just posts more and more about their victimhood. I have a similar situation with my niece, who complains a lot about her life (and she has a basis for that) but does not make changes that could improve her life. She does need someone to listen and I do listen, and I even try to budge her out of her negative thinking loop, and she is starting to acknowledge that she gets in a negative thinking loop. It demands a lot of perseverance on the part of the listener/helper.

If you want more social support, try engaging with the person offering ideas and suggestions. If they suggest meditation or deep relaxation training to deal with your anxiety, show that you are actually looking into it and doing it. Or ask questions about how to get started.

Otherwise, your posts tend to be "I felt anxious about x (or y, or z). Was I right to feel that way?"

Good luck hon. I hope you can take this as an honest answer to an honest question. I am certainly not trying to put you down in any way, but only to share how it may feel for a forum participant.

I have stopped posting my thoughts and feelings on Facebook because relatives, friends and in-laws have told me off for posting too much. So I thought that posting here will be better, as it's more anonymous, although it doesn't feel anonymous any more because according to the replies in this thread, everyone remembers my username and seem to go against my posting style.

I didn't think I was that bad, as I am not some unemployed hermit barracaded in my bedroom complaining about how lonely and broke I am. I have a job, a relationship, friends, and I have a busy life offline. I do a lot of travelling on buses, which is mostly when I come to WP. So I am busy with my life, even though it doesn't look like it to other members online.

Posting here does help me, as I don't know many Aspies in my life, so coming to an Aspie forum to share my thoughts, feelings and stuff that happens in my daily life, makes me feel better. So if something upsets me, I like to post it here. I didn't think there was anything wrong with that. I do talk to my relatives, friends and my partner about my feelings, but coming to WP is more instant and I can talk about AS more. Now I feel like what I'm doing on WP is wrong. :(

What you are doing on WP is NOT wrong. It's fine for you to post what's on your mind.

However, if you want feedback, you need to develop a more interactive quality to your posts. Reply to those who respond, and sometimes respond on their threads as well.

I hope you have a great day!

I do post replies in other's threads. Why do the things I do go unnoticed? And I can't keep responding to everyone's post individually, it's not a card game. I wish this forum had a like button or something, then members will know that I do read their posts.

I wish I could be as brave as you. I relate to most of the things you post about anxiety. Though I just avoid the things in life that create it at my own peril.

I like that idea of the like button.
