They're afraid that, if you don't come back, some people will be fired.

It's weird: but the act of your leaving the facility is called "eloping."

There was a guy who left a facility. Nobody noticed. He got hit by a truck, and died. Many people got fired as a result.

The main motivation, perhaps, is that they don't want to get sued should anything happen to you.

You don't need to go out at all to talk to the social worker at the facility. She is not likely working now that it's the weekend, but on Monday morning you need to tell your aide or the nurses that you need to talk to the social worker.

You also need to follow the rules there about not going out - if you break the rules it gives them a reason to throw you out.

...Thank you.
However, my difficulty in getting out makes this much harder.
And, yes, there's even my lack of a card of any stripe (And I HAVE tried to get one in the recent past, it gas blown up in my face  .).
I have had little contact with the social worker here.
Yes, I suppose lawsuit paranoia is a reason for saying " don't go out ". However, I would not even have this much Internet use.
Incidentally, I anticipate that I will have absolutely no Christmas presents, or any party or feast.

Why would you want to flout the rules and risk being out on the streets when you have such poor health?

...Asking for help in getting something that is in transit, as I in the past said, is not " trying to keep a yacht " or " trying to rent a building ". That's an absurd comparison.
Okay, so you feel I should not have replaced the chargers, too, So that I would be suitably lacking in things so as to make you happy? I have pointed out my difficulty with both ID cards and payment cards and I have experienced attempts at rectifying that not working out.

The mod squad here has actually told me that they give you a longer leash than some people because they recognise you as a mental health trainwreck. I dont think they should, because in spite of this you are clearly also very intelligent and high functioning. I see a manipulative person who likes to cast those who disagree with his BS as "villian" and himself as "victim".

If I won a yacht, or inherited one, I would not be able to keep it for many reasons. Firstly, I could not afford a space in a harbor to keep it. Second, I would not be able to afford fuel or maintence. And last, I would not be able to afford to hire a crew of trained sailors to man her. So I would not be able to have it, because I could not afford it. Your situation is similar if you cant afford to rent or buy a permanent building in which to house your "inheritence"...although thats really not the case at all, since a self storage locker is well within what you can probably afford. I mean, if you can afford all those cell chargers you can afford that too.

Why you are flirting with being kicked out of the facility you are in is also beyond me. Do you want to go back to the streets that badly? The staff there SHOULD kick you out, I mean none of them should have their jobs threatened because of your selfish misdeeds.[/quote]

Guys, we've already been warned this is the Haven, and to keep it supportive. Let's not allow this thread to devolve into the same mess that the last one did.

ASS-P, I'm sorry the Christmas season is getting you down - I think it's a stressful time for a lot of people. You are in my thoughts, along with others who are homeless in this world that can be so harsh to people with mental health issues.

I have nothing to add, that hasn't been said by others, but send you my best wishes as always.

I had no idea ASS-P isn't able to leave the facility he's in. If I'd known, I wouldn't have went through the trouble of linking to services he'd have to travel for.

To my, and everyone's, credit, we don't know what kind of services he's actually getting. I'm now inclined to believe he's already getting ALL the services he needs since his institutionalized life is so all-encompassing, comprehensive, and thorough.

Yes, as I understand it, at least for the time being, he's in a full-time care facility, and his basic needs are being met. How long this situation will remain available to him, we don't know.

I believe he’s in an “extended care facility.” There are people who can go out on their own—but most need some sort of pass or relative to pick him/her up.

It’s primarily because he’s recovering from the amputations, probably.

My wife works in such a place.

I do hope he gets the pictures soon.

We’ll be here for you at Christmas, ASS-P, in case the facility has nothing planned for Christmas.

If it was me I'd not go outside. I would sit back, relax, watch tv, eat my three hots, sleep and write fanfic with pen and paper.

...I really have no place to write with pen and paper, you do not know how minimal my space is! I do go out, I need to things like - for necessities - getting a new ID card- and pleasures. This wing is full of people with dementia, etc., acting out or talking dementua-ally. :(

...The people who tell me to stay in one place and never go out seem to not understand that, if I leave things undone/ put things on complete hold, things will go to he'll because of the neglect! :x One REAL example of this that recovery place I was in in San Francisco where, briefly. my failure to go to the General Delivery USPO office to pick up those inheritance from my father mineral royak
lties that came there has led to me losing that money! :( For a current example - I believe the state I'D card I have will expire on my next birthday. I have a voucher to get me a new one, but, I have to, at the least, go to the DMV to get it! DO YOU WANT ME TO NOT HAVE AN
ID CARD? :( I have NO ONE who will help me  - No, I don't think some social worker here is likely to do much, or anything, for me - And, U' m not asking anyone here to help me; (1) I won't get it. (2( Some who did like me here are, even as is now, trying to get me banned from these boards, clearly, so... :( :x

How did you lose the royalties? If they are yours, no-one else can get them. If the check was returned for failure to claim, it will have been returned and put in an unclaimed property fund. If you have unclaimed mineral royalties you can check them here

http://www.mineralweb.com/owners-guide/ ... s-royalty/

Once found, you make an unclaimed property request.

...Now, to concentrate on one thing, my lack of a card or bank account. Briefly:
In w914, when I left .CA to go to Washington state for what turned into a few months, I left the account I had in a .CA bank with 3p/-ish dollars in it behind. After I got back, I checked and found out that monthly charges had eaten the account during the months I was away. I eventually got a Green Dot pay  -into ATM card.
Eventually, in 2017, one day I put money in if, $120 IIRC...and though it seemed to go right :(, I found out on a later day. that the $120 had not gone in AT ALL! My receipt was gone by then, there was nothing I could do. So, the money gone  , and I didn't want to use the Green Dot card anymore (The $120 is part of the 2017 $700 losses I've been referring to in my sig :(.) - eventually, still in San Francisco, I bought a new Netspend pay-into card and loaded it - But the permanent card never came to the San Francisco address I gave, not for many weeks!
More recently, since moving back to SC, I contacted Netspend and told them to send me the card at my USOS address here *which is a GO mail pick- up service) and it seemed like it might come - but more recently still, I've been unable to access Netspend'sNetspend' s account for me on a computer:( ! I What can I do now :? ?
BunnyB, I have no one working me now, and I am not in connection with anyone :( ! No phone, either, and just this working pretty-poorly tech I am writing this on now...
