The self-confidence was still low for a long time, even in adulthood. It took a long time for me to be able to engage in repartee with people. I took things literally, and I didn't know when people were joking.

I would still get 'triggered' when I would hear personal criticism, so i can understand when people get hurt as a result. I am getting better, I try to listen when people give constructive criticism and tell myself that this does not mean I am a bad person, stupid, etc. You cannot grow of you dont accept criticism. This is not just an aspie issue, I have a constant issue with staff being able to take direction.
I just don't see any criticism Bea was saying. This feels like an extreme ovwr reaction.
