because we're running thin on mods, who are either on a break, or ill or have quit, and i'm here only to help them out till alex finally promotes new mods, as he promised. i'm tired, i have health issues, i can't do this any longer.

Don't jeopardize your health. It isn't worth it.

A reply I sent here got called disgusting and sarcastic when really I was being quite seriouse and was only trying to help. The OP said they reported it and my post got taken down. I was hurt.

Sorry that happened to you. I was hurt too, but I figured the right thing to do was share my experience with others. And because I did, you had an opportunity to express your feelings, also.

Jimmy M is one of my favourite members. I don't see how anyone could have anything against him.

You had a post deleted for breaking forum rules so you start a thread discussing a post on a locked thread  , this thread should also be deleted. You should be discussing this in PM's as requested in the t&c's

Yeah, yeah ... “Not your fault” ... “A misunderstanding” ... “They’re out to get you” ... “Boo-hoo-hoo” ...

I wonder what would be said if I had posted this exact reply to Bea on this thread.

There's nothing in the t&c's or forum rules against calling someone a very nice person. Nothing at all.

If this thread should also be deleted, I do hope you'll report it.

You misread my comment , you started a post to talk about a post on a locked thread which is against t&c's

Was your post removed unfairly ? who knows but you need to discuss it with a mod not in the open forum , that is just poor form.

Good point. I deleted the original message. It's so easy to forget that this is The Haven when someone else tried to jack the thread.

I did discuss it with the mod involved, who apologized to me, and I accepted their apology.

I've already said I started this thread because I wanted my original compliment to be recorded. Secondarily, there was a lesson to be learned in terms of oversensitivity to ill intentions where none exist.

Poor form? OMG, I've been accused of poor form. I shall never live it down.

(sarcasm intended, this time)

So, as I understand it, this is posted in the Haven, which should be for emotional support.

I get Ferris' point that moderator behavior should not be discussed in an open thread. (I have not read all the rules, or committed them to memory, but I trust Ferris got this right.)

On the other hand, if being moderated hurt your feelings in some manner, then I think that would be okay?

So, we should have kept on topic of providing emotional support to Bea for feeling badly about a moderator's comments.

Bea, I am very sorry you had to cope with this on your own. It is clear this forum is important to you and being chastised for something you did not do would be distressing. As I write that now, it could be read as being sarcastic, but I really do mean it!! !!

This communication stuff is HARD! 8O

Funnily enough I know first hand about oversensitivity to ill intentions where none exist and I was given a free holiday for my troubles.

I'm glad you have sorted this with the mod involved. I have never seen jimmy say a bad word word to anyone.

Was your comment on a thread where the OP might see you as a detractor ?

If it was and you posted that you were moved to compliment jimmy because he is more compassionate than you are, and you admired that , this could be taken as another way as saying you are not compassionate towards the OP

^ just a thought

But I didn't have to cope with it on my own. I posted it here in this thread.

But thank you for commenting. You have always been so supportive to me and to many others. I appreciate your involvement in the forums.

(no sarcasm intended, this time)

Which makes me happy. I intend to respond to it soon. It's very thought provoking.
