Or d you think someone saying happy Tuesday is wishing you a happy Tuesday or saying good morning is hoping you have a good morning.

Nope, sorry. To the rest of the world, "Happy New Year" means "have a happy new year", not "I'm having a happy new year". And likewise, "good morning" means "have a good morning" as opposed to "I'm having a good morning". The fact that there is a consensus among everyone else in this thread that what I'm saying here is correct and your interpretation of those phrases is incorrect should tell you something.

Saying “Happy New Year” means you’re wishing others a Happy New Year.

Any other interpretation is the product of overthinking—and is just not true.

Happy New Year, Sly. Sorry you weren’t with your family when the Ball dropped.

How about that “Aspie” woman on your job?

I’m not “biting Sly.”

I just wish he would have a different perspective on things.

I’m saying I’m having a crappy new year, not wishing a crappy new year on others,

May you be well.
May you be happy.
May you be free of the suffering of fear, anger, and ill will.
May you find forgiveness for the inevitable harms we bring one another.
May you cultivate loving kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity.
May you live in harmony with all things,
And be at peace.

kraft, i didnt mean u. sorry if i generalised. that was wrong. though, u see, some ppl (which might likely include sly) cant feel "happy" new year (or other holiday). u want for better, but it doesnt work. i personally am in a state of perpetual meltdown and by what sly posted, i gather he has the same. so well i rushed to back him up and maybe did it a bit overly. didnt want to offend u. but just dont wish "happy" smth to a person who defo doesnt feel it. that would only hurt them more.

Another reason I hate today is it’s time to get my family to pay their part of the credit card. :(

Sly279, I wish you can have a better year this year than the last one. Life can get better, even if it seems like it cannot sometimes.

Hope you have a good New Year. I understand that you mean no harm to others and just sharing your feelings.

I'd rather try and have a happy new year, as hard as it is for me.

Saying "happy New year/birthday/thansgiving/whatever" does not make anyone happy

Saying "crappy new year" does not influence anyones year

What's so great about a new year anyways?

Why Gregorian year and not lunar year or whatever?

cheers short xd what i really hate is when everybody hypes it and says i should be happy, put on my best face and make them feel good no matter what i feel. because its a date somebody somewhen had chosen. so ya i get extremely stressed out at that time. and not just me. i guess we need a sect of people who want to close their eyes 28 and open 3 and never remember those several days (put in any other mass festivity date here). all we want is well, some understanding and acceptance. and to not be congratulated because that hurts. sorry anybody who likes that time. i guess im breaking out here, please forgive me.

Well, I have had a crappy start to the new year.

I was walking in the park on Thursday & had to take a leak. I look down to cover up the evidence to see red snow with the yellow. That can't have been from me, I thought. Got home, went again, complete with non-dispersing drops of blood in the toilet. WTF? Uh-oh!

In the mail that same day was a flyer - "See red? See your doctor." Saw that after going to doctor. Now I have to wait until the end of the month, fretting away, until I see a urologist.

And last month I had a hearing test. I now sport a pair of flashy hearing aids. Although I doubt I'll wear them much...

i just wont tell all the s**t that had happened to me in new years and other holidays. hearing aids are cool, also they can be quite mistaken for a hands free device, no? if u wouldnt like people around u to know what are those, well they wont. so why not wear them? to ur emergency problem, well, ouch. had not had it that bad yet. sorry u are having it. and f**k new year.
