You have always been quite popular here. I guess find a real world version of this. Some type of group or club as others have suggested. I'd say some sort of art group. Maybe atrend art showings and stuff. Where I live there are art shops where people hang out.

You'll find some friends some day.

Find a group where you can hang out, meet people and make friends. Places you could go to may be:

Library.
Coffee shop.
Town hall meetings.
Volunteer in shops - I've done this and sort of made a friend.

I spend my time watching YouTube videos. I'm happy when I'm by myself while I do this.

Most people don't like what I like. My "special interest" now is seeking traffic scenes where there are both horse/buggies and automobiles. It's fascinating looking at the transition from horses to cars.

I spend a lot of time watching Laurel and Hardy shorts yesterday.

I'm happy with myself. No reason not to be.

Sounds like you're the same awkward combination that I am, Autistic and extroverted. Many of my friends who are autistic could be content for years at a time with no social interaction. Me on the other had, I need interaction and to feel liked by people, lest I get very depressed very quickly. Autism encumbers the interaction, and thus I never meet the amount I need to feel good. At the same time if I have too much interaction in one sitting I get overloaded like the rest of you.

Thus far, to me, it does not appear to be worth the cost benefit analysis. Risk versus reward. Social and romantic relationship

Yes I feel left out sometimes, when I am bored, holidays, wounded.

But relationship just do not seem worth the effort

Relationship could go wrong at any time for any reason or no reason

Fear of failure and social rejection

how the hell do people do it?

Life can be cruel, that's for sure. I have platonic friends and yet I don't particularly desire frequent contact with them, though I would like more than anything to get a romantic partner and yet that seems impossible. It seems we always want what's out of our reach.

You can't control whether other people approach you or not, and they may be open to making friends, but not interested enough to take a proactive approach. You can control whether or not you approach other people, so maybe it would be better to focus on approaching others as opposed to hoping they approach you.

I play online Scrabble from time to time. That's actually quite sociable as some of the players want to chat and you get to play people from all over the world in real time.

I've played people everywhere from Nigeria to Siberia, Weat Indies to Pakistan and many more.

Don't give up Kip. Another thing that helps is to get involved in a community charity effort, for animals or the less fortunate, perhaps even animal activism. Then you're part of a group with a set purpose who work together to improve life for others.

Is it for free or do you have to pay? I used to love to play the Scrabble-type game on Yahoo Games (can't remember what they called it) but they got rid of it and now I can't find an online version that's free to play.

Didn't they just make a movie about Laural and Hardy? I could swear I saw an interview online somewhere where an actor was talking about that.

Now I remember--it was John C. Reilly on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and the movie is called "Stan & Ollie". If you like Laurel and Hardy you should check it out, kortie. I love John C. Reilly, he's been in some great films (and an amazingly funny episode of Drunk History as Nikola Tesla).
