I don't think any of us need protection from disagreement. There's no other reason to have a democracy.

We need protection from personal attacks and slander. I’d be fine if we had no mods and no rules then I could freely tell some people what I think I of them. But we do have those and I’d be warned if not banned, so since we have them they should be enforced on liberals too not just non liberals.

How’d you feel if I said you want to do horrible things that you’ve never expressed wanting to do and slandered your name? You’d probably report me to the mods who me being non liberal would give me a warning.

Slander is illegal, if someone slanders yiur name you can take them to court and win compensation. Example. Someone says you like to look at naked kids, yiur work fires you, you friends abandon you, but it’s slander so you sue the person who did it and win,
If I went around accusing the liberals here of wanting to go door to door taking people’s guns and shooting those who resist I’d be warned, but I can be accused of wanting to pollute the air and water all because I said I’m free to vote for whoever I want. That’s slander but since I’m not liberal it’s ok to slander and personally attack me. It’s ok to call me a Nazi or a racist or bigot, I’m not human after all right? Only liberals are humans, anyone else is open game and sub human is how it feels.

Also I’m having a crappy birthday as birthdays are super depressing and now on top of that I’m having to deal with this and oh I have to call out sick to work cause I take the bus and I, snowed in still , buses are running limited today cause snow, so I’d have to walk in 1 foot of snow to the main street to catch bus and I won’t have a ride home, and it’s going snow more later so might get stuck there, so now I have to call work and explain to them that even though I live in town I can’t come in which I’m sure they will disagree with and so ding me and fire me

So now they’re targeting centrist like me. I’m not right leaning I’ve gotten in fights with conservatives in past on here. I’m just not liberal. I have some liberal ideas and some conservative ideas. I’m registered democrat I’m not tea party, not small government, not republican, not libertarian etc. my state doesn’t let independents vote in primaries so I registered democrat. I voted for trump that’s my crime that makes me a monster on this site and ok to be mistreated

sly, look. i understand what i'm saying can not be an option. that u can get caught in a storm. but the only way to deal with people, who pick fights for a fight's sake is - dont give it to them. walk away. dont answer. let them write whatever they want and dont answer. arguments and discussions are good and needed, for people to connect with each other, to learn of different motivations, to undestand something. if they are not willing to do that, there is no point in talking. if they just want to insult u for believing smth different, ignore them. unlike "real" life where things can get in ur face and really refuse to get out, here u can shield urself by just not reading and responding to outright provocative messages. and yes, i totally know how hard that is. how it is to be compelled to respond no matter what. i've been there and i've spent a lot of effort in diminishing that habit. i am allways here somewhere, if u need some digital hugs)

Sorry you feel you're getting attacked, I don't come on here as much as I used to so I haven't seen all the drama. But yeah that's not cool. You shouldn't feel unwelcome here just because of political views..this is supposed to be a place for the neurodiverse not a place of any specific political affiliation.

Also though if you are feeling a bit overwhelmed it can also be easier to feel attacked, because in a way your own mind is attacking you. Sometimes it helps to take a minute for yourself, get involved in a distraction and just kind of clear your head from it...for your own sanity. I mean nothing even makes sense anymore...its all chaos, how is anyone supposed to 'figure it out'. Maybe humans just suck and we're all doomed, IDK anymore. But that is why sometimes its good to take the mind off of it. Basically I am not saying its all in your head....but all the sh*t going on and what not if you're anything like me and do a lot of thinking its very easy for your head to make it all worse.
