Okay thanks, but I couldn't just walk away as I was in the line up to buy tickets at a movie theater the last time, which is very awkward to deal with a situation like this. However, this has happened before to me and others in the same movie theater line up. So I can't just walk away unless I loose my place in line.

Next time if I just put my fists up in a martial arts stance (I took martial arts before) and just scream at them that if they don't run away, they are going to f^%$d up or worse, would that just be the best to guarantee them leaving more? Or would it not be wise to this in a line up with other people?

No, no, no. Just as it's wise not to elicit road rage by cutting in front of people on the freeway, it's wise not to start a fight that could have been avoided. Simply say, "Sorry, man." When you can't walk away, look away.... while keeping a hand on your valuables.

Thanks, I've done that before twice, now, but they keep talking and talking to me, asking and asking. I refused them four times and they kept asking this last time. What do you do then?

stop answering. u've said no, then just dont answer. but better dont give them anything in the first place. also u could say u'd call the police... in most places, this behaviour is illegal.

You just need to stop talking to them then. That's part of the con, they will try to wear you down and make you feel bad for them or feel guilty.

Once you've said no, stop talking to them. The more you continue to talk to them the more you encourage them.

Be civil but don't be nice to them. They're not your friend.

Okay, so just stop saying no, and don't say anything at all then, not even no?

Just don't engage them if you don't feel up to it. Don't make I contact, don't explain your decision not to give money, just go about your business.

Most will move on to the next target because its mostly about asking as many people as they can in the shortest amount of time.

Panhandlers can get pretty agressive, but if you don't stop moving, don't make eye-contact etc. most won't make trouble.

You can still pity someone without handing over cash or putting yourself at risk.

Okay thanks, but I wasn't making eye contact in those situations, they just come up to me and make sure to get in front of my face, what then?

Tell the person in the ticket booth that someone is harassing the patrons in line. They'll send a security guard out there to keep the bums from creating a problem for their customers.

If you want to give them $$, take the $$ out of your wallet, somewhere they don't see.

If you do not want to give them $$, you do not have to. And you don't have to feel guilty.

If you wan't to help homeless people you'd be better off giving $5 to a homeless charity every month

If you donate to a charity, you do not have to deal with the recipients

i am sorry, i dont know the exact limits of ur physical capability. i happened to pick up objects (such as a chair), to fight somebody off. more than once. its like u can never be really prepaired for violence. one of reasons i never give any change at all and just keep going. too high a probability of complications. maybe i am a terrible person.
My girlfriend complained to her dad about how a beggar got pesty about asking her for more money 1ce she gave him some until I got in the guy's face & very firmly told him to back off. Anyways my girlfriend's dad told her a story about how a guy asked him for money as a ruse to see how much was in his wallet before the guy mugged him. I haven't really given beggars money since.

ya, thanx for the illustration. that is the high end of what i meant xd also, given that they are organized, they can kinda gang up and pest a person who once gave something to one of them. either way nothing good to see there.
