ya what magz says. that was my meaning too. and ya, i was pretty well informed, but still not enough. i guess there is never enough, before it happens to u. but every bit counts. ppl should be knowing what they are walking into, getting kids. makes happier families that way.

my 13y/o has been living with his dad since he was 1 cos i wasnt fit enough to raise him,
but that was cos i was raped and wasnt planning on having children but decided to keep the baby anyway
but i have more moderate autism than the op and prone to public meltdowns

its up to you if you want a baby id say go for it most people have children its circle of life

I vomited during the later contractions while giving birth because of the pain.

Plus, babies spit up a lot.

I'm with Sly, if you want to have a baby go ahead and do it, just know what you're signing up for.

One thing I would say is make sure the person you're having a baby with is committed to raising a family with you. Raising a child is hard enough as it is (I've never had children of my own, but my sister has kids). Raising a child as an autistic will have some added (overcomable) challenges. Raising a child as a single parent is REALLY REALLY hard. Raising a child as a single autistic parent would be even harder.

I'm pretty sure my mother is autistic (undiagnosed) and my father NT. My sister is NT, but I am not. I'd be pretty mad if 30 years ago someone told my mother not to have children. She's been a great mother, and you can be too.
