My work is never going shut down it seems, some states shut them down so they sued and got to re-open. We’ll be the last retail store up and running with all our employees spreading the virus. Our customers are wearing gloves and masks. So I’ll likely have to quit. My moms doctor told her nit to leave the house as if she gets it she’ll die. If I get it she’ll get it. I only just lost my grandma. The meager $500 a month I make isn’t worth losing my mom. I hate my company. The owner is 90 so I’d bet he’s staying home and away from people. His life is important, all others are to be sacrificed so he can make a few more millions off panic buying. Meanwhile the glass store inside our store sent their employees hike cause they fear for their safety.

I heard that the selfish and stupid younger generation in Florida are still partying during Spring Break with no fear of catching or spreading the virus. Their attitude is "If I catch it, I catch it, like big whatever."

Well, that's not my problem. We outcasts of society will end up being the real winners when the "cool" kids are all sicker than they've ever been in their whole lives, or dead.

Of course, they're also going to infect and kill other people. That bothers me. A lot.

The quarantine caused a lot of jobs to get lost.

If more applicants compete for government benefits, that could weaken my already dim chances of getting them

Then I could end up homeless

But I am not too concerned about getting sick. At least, not more than usual

Less liberal in a generic sense and more liberal in an in-your-face sense since the turn of the millennium, yes.
But I think “authoritarian” would be overstating it a bit.

Despite generally authoritarian tendencies of my current government, they didn't tighten their grip at the epidemics.
We - as a nation - have very bad associations with things like police hour or military on the streets so if they tried it, they would make sure people would hate them and fight them.
So they politely ask for cooperation in the name of solidarity with vulnerable ones.
Works way better than the alternative :D

That’s good to know: your country is one of the ones I have concern for on that front!

Polish culture is better adapted to surviving crises than to peaceful, prosperous existence :D

Based on what I see on WP, I'm more concerned (and, honestly, also curious) about how more traditionally capitalist societes survive it.

That is a very good point!

I have been wondering if half the reason why we haven’t had more stringent measures imposed here is because the government is scared of how the populous will react...

I’m getting tested today.

I feel sort of feverish....but not really that sick. But I’m not taking chances.

I’ve had a “cold” for the past week. Last night I started getting chills and slight fever.

Be careful when getting tested kraftiekortie, wear gloves and the right kind of mask. No point in getting tested if you catch it at a testing site. I also hope that it's nothing serious and just a cold. Good luck and stay safe kraftiekortie

Thanks.

I think I’ll be okay even if I test positive.

I’ve already had a week of having a “cold.”

Time to file for unemployment.
