I will pray for Josie to have a quick recovery.

I talked to Josie today. They admitted her to the hospital. She said she is feeling a little better. She was told she has fluid in her lungs, which is one of the more dangerous types.

Somehow the virus prevents fluid from leaving the alveoli in the lungs, and the patient suffocates from the inside. I pray the medications and care she gets in hospital will stop that trajectory from progressing.

Her voice is a little stronger, but still frankly short of breath. I told her many of you were praying for her, and she was so grateful.

At least she she’s getting the medical attention she requires. I have faith that she will recover soon.

It’s vital that Josie gets calls from her friends.

I hope Josie recovers. Someone as amazing as she sounds doesn’t deserve to go down this way.

Josie was discharged from the hospital, but she sounds terrible. She can hardly talk for lack of breath. She said they don't keep anyone in the hospital and there is nothing they can do except encourage her to drink fluids and take tylenol. Sometimes she coughs so hard she is bent over and breathless from the coughing.

But it gets worse: She runs a small business and has a business checking account with significant amounts of money because she has to pay her staff. Someone apparently stole some checks and forge her signature and wrote 22 checks for $600 each. That is $13,200. It is all her payroll and all her savings. She has zero money right now.

She found out about this when she was in the hospital.

Her understanding is that eventually the bank and sheriff will get the money back. And I will also support her until she can get back on her feet.

It really s**ks. Because she lives in a rural agriculture town, with high crime rate, she has surmounted many challenges over the years. I honestly don't know how she does it. She has only a high school diploma. She started as a nurse's aid, and over the years has built up a business that serves an under-served area, employing local people to help local people.

It breaks my heart.

It's so horrible when a horrible person without conscience takes advantage of a true angel like that. Thank you for your fantastic and genuine friendship of a wonderful woman who didn't deserve these things.

They don't give inhalers, she said. I have no idea why not. When talking to her I want to put an inhaler in her mouth so she can get some relief. One would think a nebulized medication would be good as well. I will have to do some googling.

i am smelling malpractice here. i have found no contraindications regarding rescue inhalers and covid 19. there are many medical myths that at least some doctors are prone to, however.

Only just read this thread ( )

Very sorry to hear about your friend’s illness and suffering.
I hope her condition improves in good time.

Awful that some low-life has taken advantage of this to rob her.

I don't do prayers, but I do hope your friend pulls through and makes a speedy recovery. They sound like a genuinely good person and I wish only the best for you and your friend! Great big hug for you blazingstar!
