You're comments are very valuable to most topics, even if they're asides. Some people are so anal when it comes to topics drifting another direction. I've never understood that.

I would say most threads start with a statement or question...then the next posts are in response to that. Rarely does someone respond to another person who didnt start the thread.

This is what I was thinking as well.

I don't consider anyone a thread killer because we (normally) respond to the OP and not the final comment.

When things do go off-topic, that doesn't mean the thread died.

It means no one had anything new to add to the OP.

Watch me long enough, you'll figure it out... It's like I generate a force field that puts people to sleep :(

Kortie will say something that has...you know...common sense. And is non polarizing, and a bit calming.

Where is the sport in THAT?

And maybe it calms things down so much that the thread runs out of steam (to mix my metaphors).

I'm just curious: Am I a "thread killer"?

I sometimes get responses to what I post; but many times, I don't.

Note: it is probable that I'm just cogitating over nothing!

Sometimes, I just feel sorry for myself.

I guess you are human, after all. You post in the Haven too.

Normally, I agree with everything you say. Maybe others do and they feel at peace with your reply so they think its best it ends that way. Otherwise theyre compelled to argue forever.

Even if people disagree with you, maybe you dont say it in a way that they would feel the need to reply. Plus if the thread is long enough, people are so tired and everythings been said, that they might not post anymore.

Perhaps you dont have enemies or people who would criticize what you say because they don't trust you. Perhaps they can look past your views because you don't criticize other views?

That has been my experience too.

While you are not necessarily a thread killer, I have noticed that many of your posts seem to have only a peripheral or tangential connection with the subject of a thread, which then derails or diverts onto another topic.

Sometimes an idea is explained in a few words. Theres not much to dissect, its a concept that doesnt necessarily offer debate material, or things to criticize. On topic or off.

Neither have I, especially since it seems to be an autistic characteristic to do so.
