I'm very, very sorry about your news, Pugly.

My mom died of cancer in January.

What you'll find, is that some people will be afraid to be around her, especially as the end draws very close. She'll be lonely and scared.

If you can be brave enough to be there with her and help her through it, it will mean the world to her.

I'm really sorry about your mom. Give her lots of hugs.

Here's a new treatment that works against many kinds of cancer, and it's not too expensive, either. It's based on research at the University of Alberta.

Hugs to you, too.

Thanks for the sound advice. I am going to try and be with her as much as possible this next month... since I don't have a job.

Once school starts in the fall, it'll be difficult to find time, I suppose I can do homework and day to day stuff around her... it doesn't really matter what it is... just so that I am near her.

Also, thanks for the info on DCA... I'll tell my Mom about it. I'll also run it past my uncle who has a medical doctor degree...

It looks like a long shot... but at this stage this is pretty much all we have.

I don't know how well my Mom will go for these "alternative" treatments... but it looks good from what I've read... and at least has potential. It's just in the early stages of testing and such...

Sorry to hear this, Pugly.

My mom died of cervical cancer when I was 13. Today, most people survive it, but back then, there were no real treatments other than chemo. It was a slow, painful way to go. And devastated my world. But at least I know my mom was finally at peace.

You're probably referring to cloned antibodies, like rituximab. They only work for certain types of cancer; for instance ritux only works for lymphoma. If there was such an option, the doctors would have told her about it. Doctors are very honest when it comes to your chances of survival.

I'm so sorry to hear about your news Pugly. :(
