I have the same yet nearly the opposite problem. I need to learn how to make mistakes. I freeze from ever doing anything out of fear of making mistakes. Stupid perfectionism.

That one I can tell you how to do. Deliberately make mistakes, deliberate do things in a sloppy manner, and tell yourself that it's OK.

Hey, now that explains how the American political system works. And we just thought that they were incompetent and didn't know what they were doing. Method in their madness, after all.

I dwell on things a lot too. Might be an AS thing. It's very hard to control your thoughts. Try to stay in the present moment.

If you try to control you thoughts, you can't. If you try to create new thoughts of the kind that you want, you can. "Daydreaming" helps me survive each day.

When they asked the 100 year old man how he lived so long he replied.
"Short memory"
I think you have to find a way to forgive yourself, learn from it, and then move on. It also helps to examine your motives. If you are trying to do what is right and you fail, you shouldn't beat yourself up over it.
I wish my parents had helped me realize, when I was young, that it is okay to strive for success, and sometimes fail. To many people sit around, and do nothing, in fear of failure. I've stumbled, many times, and it only makes succeeding sweeter.

I make mistakes all the time and I constantly keep thinking about my mistakes over and over. Oy I try to learn from them, but that doesn't always work. Plus I tend to overreact if I thought I made a mistake, but then later I found out I did nothing wrong.

I know how you feel username88, I feel for you.

You know what helps me to get over mistakes? I confess it, write it down or tell somebody. It really helps.

I have mistakes as well and some have remind in my mind as a cold harsh reminder of what not to do but I got over them as well. A friend of mine told to think positive about things and I kept to those positive thoughts.
