Things do get better. I tried to do away with myself once, about 16 years ago. It was DARK. Now I'm happier then a pig in S**T. I can't tell you what changed, probably just me. My circumstances are about the same, my health is worse, but I'm still happy.

And there is always someone who would miss you, although when you are depressed you can't see that.

Immured, you are not alone. We can keep each other company in the darkness...

People would miss you. Death in a community seems to spread over people and depress them, even if they never knew the person.

A girl in my school passed away after being hit by a truck. People have cried over it. I never knew here, but the thought depresses me.

Anyway, life is not about earning people's favour.

Immured, I know that not everybody believes in God here, but I do believe in God, and I will be praying for Him to give you the motivation and the feeling of being loved and appreciated that you need to get through your tough time, and for Him to send you the help you need to find a solution to your dilemma. There has to be a solution that doesn't involve your untimely death, so please don't give up hope yet.

My mother always tells me that there's a solution to everything, except death. Sometimes we just don't see it at first, but it's comforting to know a solution is there.

I think you're right. I made up my mind to stop a day or two ago to cut this out but I'm putting it in writing to let everyone else know that.

Imured:

First, read what Anna54 said. I agree.
Second, whether we all like to face it or not, we are ALL alone. That shouldn't bother you, because it's just a reality.

Finally....it's not about anyone else missing you if you were dead. I'm sure they would, but I'm not going to argue. It's about picking yourself up, brushing yourself (your mind in this case) off, and realizing that you are not better or any worse than the rest of us. If you're having trouble dealing with something, why don't you share it with us? We might not be able to help, but you've got over 15 thousand friends here.

I happen to know Anna (not personally), and she's one of the people here (again, there are lots of others...me included) who will listen....maybe try to help, but at least you're not alone. No one is judgemental here (or at least most of the time). It is always far better to figure out what's bothering you, take it (as someone else greyven (not sure I spelled that right) one step at time...or maybe it was someone else...but it's good advice. Most of us have been where you are.....which means a lot of us will be your friends.

Look, maybe it's going to be hard to do, but the holidays are comng up. Take the opportunity to be nice to yourself! I can wish you a happy holiday season (and of course, I do) all I want, and if you don't take some steps to cheer up, it's not going to do a bit of good.

I'm one of the older members of this board (not THAT old), and I've seen a lot, and life has a way of turning out okay if you just sit back (emotionally) and don't let it get to you.

Cheers.
