MissConstrue, this thread doesn't qualify as confronting... it's more along the lines of a public display of passive-aggressiveness, and won't solve the irritation.

If he is annoying the piss out of you, either tolerate or be direct.

Aright. Just got on this forum. I apologize if I upset or scared any of you. I'm kind of new to this forum. I should've just left this topic out. I'm sorry if it offended anyone. Sometimes I get a thin skin for things. It does get irritating but I shouldn't have let it get to me like this. I'm not real good at confrontation. Again, I apologize if it put you guys on the spot. I didn't mean for that to happen.

No apology necessary! If you ever believe someone is trolling, or if another poster is intimidating you, contact the mods. They love dealing with situations like that. It's their job.

I wasn't aware I had upset anyone.

Relax. I wasn't thinking of you. I should have kept my mouth shut. It wasn't 7 letters anyhow.

MissConstrue, I don't know what you mean but 1) some people NEED attention, they don't just want it, 2) a lot of people get depressed thanks to AS-related issues, and 3) steer clear of The Haven; it's FOR depressed people. If you want to post or reply to posts about support for AS-related issues, try General Autism Discussion at the top of the board.

I mean this with utmost respect; I just don't understand what you mean to accomplish when you post this thread. :?

Yeah, it can get annoying. But what's worse is when someone is ignored. Most people need attention. Some have to seek it more than others.

I wonder what the people who start threads about attention-seekers are trying to accomplish. Just vent and have others sympathize/empathize with them? Or are they trying to passive-aggressively petition to have us silenced/shut up/controlled/moderated/banned/kicked off/mediated/told off/"disciplined"/"put in our place"/"taught a lesson"/"brought down a peg"/"slowed down"/discouraged/censored/punished/whatever?

QFT

most people usually calm down too..... but the thing with forums like this is that you're always getting NEW people.... lot's of topics get revisted OVER and OVER so there will always be these kind of things.

True enough. I can understand why some people might wish for others to exhibit restraint though.

Internet communication is a funny thing. I certainly can't judge. I had an agoraphobic attack that I suffered from all day wednesday, and most of yesterday. Result: highest number of posts per day I've ever made on a forum in my entire life. True, I was able to format them in ways that somewhat pertained to the discussion topics at hand, but I did it because I needed an outlet and a form of communication that didn't terrify me. And....I feel better today.

I agree.
Could you PM me to tell me who it is? I would like to know so I stay away from boards with this person (I'm not in the mood to be polite)

I said I was sorry, I wish this thread could be erased. I wasn't trying to accomplish anything. I got mad and did the wrong thing by putting what I was mad about down. I should've thought before doing this. I know better now, OK? I'm not saying this to all of you just those who are still ranting.

Not necessarily. One doesn't have to be depressed to post here; one just has to be feeling down. There are quite a few people who post here and are not depressed, and there are other rants about, which means she's perfectly entitled to post her own, which, as far as I can tell, is a valid point for some.

MissConstrue, there's no need for you to be sorry, but if you really want to have this thread erased, you can contact a mod; they'll probably delete it for you.

Thankyou for your positive feedback and advice. I was feeling very frustrated at the time this was done.
