Gert your own plate, bowl, cup, glass, fork, knife and spoon, and wash only your own. Don't get tons of them, just one of each. It really helps. :)

Chores seemed overwhelming for me too. I couldn't do homework or anything at one point. I didn't even want toget out of bed sometimes and didn't bother to go to school sometimes.

look at it this way.... SOMEONE needs to do them.... and it may as well be shared among everyone, after all... do you think your the only person it would distract from what they really want to do?

no-body likes chores ('cept maybe people with OCD...)

Am I the only one here who likes doing the dishes? I like cleaning, too.

Err...probably.

I HATE doing the dishes. I don't mind other chores such as vacuuming or hanging out the clothes. But dishes....ARGHH NO WAY!

If I have to do the dishes I usually listen to music while I do them...or watch the tv while doing the dishes on 'auto-pilot'.

times I look back and think to myself
"if I had only done dishes every night
maybe we'd still be together"

other times I think to myself
"if she hadnt done all my friends
maybe we'd still be together"

I dont mind housework as such, but I have to try and regulate my body movements as housework gives me a kind of overload. It can get pretty difficult sometimes...

Thats too funny

I found it really hard to get a housework plan going. It never really happened; I only came close to it when I wrote everything down and kept the list near me.

Now I have machines for everything and I get help with it, so it happens now :D

I don't do dishes, but I probably will have to at college.

I got out of chores with the argument that if my siblings did chores to hang out with their friends, and I didn't have any friends, then I didn't need to do any chores.

does anybody have a way to do chore that does not feel overwhelming? Just do it never seems to work for me, respons es like that drive me crazy.

i usually turn it into a game....

like, how many plates can i clean in 5 minutes...

or how many weeds i can pull up without breaking the roots...

etc..

keep a highscore, make it fun...

Weeding ? that would just be too much to handle I have to pay someone to do my gardens for me, but the washing up thing I dont know why I find it so impossible to manage but I force myself to wash up after each time I cook or at least once a day, I really hate doing it but I know that if I do it as I go at least the tactile displeasure of doing it will only be for a maximum of 5 minutes, and then I reward myself with something silly like a cup of tea "I know its not really a reward but I make myself think of it like that"

Bristol ???? snap my god Aspies are taking over ! !! !!
