Don't worry, all I intend to do is write a letter of complaint

I agree, I think they don't have the staff or substantial funds to provide a good service. I intend to complain though. I could have easily gone away and committed suicide, like I mentioned earlier.

I hope you will complain about this, and that something positive will come of it.

(I have lost three dear friends to suicide, and dear friends are rare, for me. Sigh... I think they all had AS, too.)

Thoughts of encouragement is all I can give you, but it's done with great sincerity. :)

Nico,
the reason they didnt do much is because of funding and lack of places, they tend to only want to section/admit if the person is obviously at accute risk to themself,or is obviously going to try and kill themself if theyre let out,if they think it was not obvious or was to get help they are probably expecting community mental health team to help.
Sometimes they do not need much to section, recently am was almost sectioned for something non MH,for head injuries and severe meltdowns as the parameds told the home staff and managers it's the only way they can forcibly take am to hospital.

It might even depend on the hospital whether get admitted or sectioned or not, before sister got her own house, she used to live with a lady who was sometimes suicidal, and as soon as she ODd or slit her wrist [not so much that it would kill her] she'd be taken straight into the moorside unit [trafford general] for a stay.
am know trafford general are supposed to be good for pysch. stuff.

Am recommend getting a CPN [community pyschiatric nurse],will probably be able to get one via GP.

I'm glad your Ok Nic. I've had your similar feelings, and almost did it when I was younger. I think it'd kill my mom if I did though and there's no point imo. I know religion is not a good place for this discussion and I truely dislike religion, but if anything it's taught me life is worth it. You just have to be patient, I guess. Your going to die one day, but for the time being you might as well make the most of it.

How is he doing now, if we've heard from him?

Nice to meet you too :)
I'm doing much better than I was, but I still have suicidal thoughts occasionally.

Thanks for your offer, I don't have any troubling private matters right now but I will contact you when I do :)

I saw my dad today, I forgot to mention his reaction to my suicide attempt. On the day it happened, my step-dad called my dad to inform him about what happened. My dad asked if I was faking it and if I had really taken the tablets. A few days later, he called and asked if I was back at college and the day after, asked if I was alright. He asked me about college again today (which took up most of our conversation) and then told me to contact him if I need anything.

Same goes for you too :)

I saw my psychiatrist today, he takes me seriously and is very good at his job. I am now on mood stabilizers, have been referred to a commuinity psychiatric nurse and the crisis team. He also thinks I may have a mild form of bipolar disorder.
