Wow, it sounds like you're going through a lot right now. I'm so sorry to hear that. I wish there was something I could do. All I can say is I'm here for your support. You can pm me anytime you feel up or down.

I really think there's something wrong with you mother to say what she did. I don't know your circumstances. I would probably try to find resources out there to get away from that. Sounds very destructive.

Yes,Helen Keller was deaf-blind.

And I find it extremely offensive what Dracula said: "We'll call you Helen Keller from now on."

Yes, I also think that was extremely insensitive and uncalled for...

My mother has a variety of mental and emotional problems...one of them being Borderline Personality Disorder. But,still, she should grow up.

My auntie once blurted out that she thought I should never have been born. I don't really know what to make of it. Family can be irrational. :?

I also agree that it was a very derogatory and insensitive and in very bad taste, to say that.

All I can say is Spacecase is one brave and strong hearted person.

With today's advances in medicine and technology I doubt you will lose your senses for long.

She is brave and strong hearted - I ditto that sentiment. Spacecase, I am so sorry your mother is not supportive, you sure don't need further stress! But you have friends here and we do support you. I think everyone admires your tenacity.

Oh man, that sucks.

At least with deafness, if it gets that bad, there are some treatments.

I don't think she does, D. It was just a very insensitive thing to say. (not trying to speak for SpaceCase here, just saying.)
