Yeah I agree.

I consider video games a drug but thanks to college, I was "cured" of my addiction. :wall:

Damage is to be expected if you overuse. That's the importance of moderation, just like with alcohol or anything else. To anyone who is thinking about trying it, the only other thing I can add is that if you do, don't make it an every-day thing, or even an every-week thing just to be on the safe side.

Or, of course, you could just avoid all the risks. That's cool too.

I tried it. Was bored, and my sister hung around a bunch of potheads. And all I wondered was why these kids felt the need to possibly get arrested, get shot at, and waste money on.

So, I tried it. BAD IDEA!! ! Turns out I'm allergic to the stuff. It's almost like an athsma reaction with me, I could barely breathe and was coming in and out of conciousness. Of course, everyone else was high as a kite too, so I was lucky it wasn't worse. And with me the major problems lasted nearly a day, and then the after effects were nearly 4 days. Afterwards, I felt very... fuzzy... like my head was wrapped in cotton. And everything felt like deja vu.

So I really didn't like it. I see plenty of people have fun with it though. It's not addictive, and other than random cases like me where people are allergic to it, it's pretty well harmless too. It's the stupid stuff people do WHILE high thats what makes it any sort of problem, and I honestly think people are worse on alcohol.

Sorry, I hate to laugh but.......

I'm in college though, we get out earlier than regular school. If I were still in high school, I wouldn't be out until sometime in June.

But I'm still jealous!

How come you thought I was getting out early? I'm not in university yet - I'm only 16!

Um, I think you misunderstood. I was saying that I wouldn't have gotten out early if I were still in school. I wasn't assuming you were getting out early. I remember reading that you wouldn't be out until the end of June.

This thread is killing me. I have been without pot for a week, that's the longest time in years! It really helps me alot. I have a great job, and it has never affected my abilities, I make more money (legally) than all of my friends combined, so I guess I can afford it. I've been smoking since college, some 15 years ago, every day. Some things I noticed while reading this: Medical marijuana of the kind sold officially is usually crap. Good weed doesn't have seeds, and much less is required for the same effect, meaning that it's not as bad for your lungs. I have never been arrested, beat up, shot, or anything like that. Among the pot subculture, there is no stress like that associated with hard drugs. When I first started, sometimes it made me dizzy, or I got the spins if I closed my eyes, but not anymore. If it shortens my life, it was still worth it, but I doubt it will.

The most positive part is the euphoria, just feeling good all over. If I'm feeling sick or aching, or if I'm depressed, weed cures it in seconds. That's my experience, anyway. I also find that things seem to taste and smell better (though I don't seem to get the "munchies" like a lot of people do), and music can sound better too. Things can become funnier, but also more confusing... for example, I'd have no hope of having a productive study session while high. Information processing and short term memory seem to be hindered. One of my least favorite things about it is definitely that I will tend to feel paranoid and anxious if I get high in an unfamiliar or uncomfortable setting, always imagining that someone will know I'm high and call the police or something. Worrying about some stupid stuff. But that's not an issue if I just get high in a good setting like my room. Symptoms continue for an hour or two until I "come down," at which point I feel sleepy and wiped out.

As you can see, my experience with weed has not been entirely positive. I think it's mainly the euphoria that keeps me coming back. I haven't smoked it in almost a month and I might be getting some more soon. I've thought about quitting, for some fairly obvious reasons, but I'm still doubtful that it's doing me any real harm. My memory seems to be in pretty fair condition, and I know for a fact that it hasn't lowered my IQ or caused any respiratory problems for me. (For what it's worth, there's no proof that marijuana has ever killed anyone. There was a very large study recently conducted by the American Medical Association that showed no significantly higher rates of cancer or chronic lung disease in even long-term marijuana smokers.)

Of course, you'll meet some dumb stoners in your life. But really, how do you know they weren't like that before, or that it was weed and not some other drug or activity that made them like that?

My two cents, anyway. I would not recommend marijuana to anyone, but at the same time I would not advise you against trying it if you feel curious. Just study up on it and be responsible, know what you're getting into. Hope this helps.

Sounds like I need this stuff O_o. Good for bringing a bad day to a better day, to bed for the next day.

The obvious ones like:
1)Euphoria
2)Cottonmouth
3)Munchies
4)Tired
5)After a few years of smoking pot/hashish I started getting very inhibited and uncomfortable in public, this caused me to quit. It was a long time after this that I heard of Aspergers and I only just now put this discomfort in context with being on the spectrum. My own experiences with Alcohol and other drugs were not positive.

I'm loaded right now, and I cannot find the words to accurately describe the buzz. I guess you could call the feeling "Delightfully attached", with cottonmouth. :D It's been awhile, and it feels pretty good to escape.

I think you're dependent on it if you've only been off it for a maximum of a week without going back...

Its ok, but stay away from some of the BC hydro, very strong stuff, I prefer mild head buzz to the full out body stone that for me is to much to handle, sometimes getting stoned if your feeling uptight can make you feel very paranoid, which really sucks. Try smoking up with some cool tunes and people who just want to chill out and relax, its great if your out camping, sitting around a bonfire.

I've found in the past that not while smoking, but during the week after, I get really stupid. I mostly discovered this through playing chess and go... I'd make silly mistakes reacting to moves that I'd normally be able to understand and counter easily. This in turn made me depressed, because I highly value my intelligence, such that it is (never had an iq test) and was eventually the reason why I stopped using it altogether.
