@b9: first of all, I read all the replies, ALL of them, by everyone, I don't favour some people over other.
I'm the "old tv logo" guy. I said it looked like stuff done by the NFB, which I love. I don't know if I mentioned that in the other thread, if I didn't, I'm sorry.
Also, you are new to the forum, less than six months in fact. Do you think everyone gets noticed after this little time?

And don't forget we ARE aspies, we suck at the social stuff, if people don't comment on your stuff, it's THEIR problem, not yours.

Try posting in General or something. That's what I do, and I think people remember me.
Don't worry too much about it. Some threads I post don't get any replies. It's no big deal to me.

i searched on youtube and saw some very plain nfb stuff like
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTv5zVUoUs4 and i thought "yuk". other people have compared my animations to media player visualizations which is annoying because mine are preset functions that take up to 100 hours to process for just 2 minutes of animation.

it does not really matter. i was not complaining but kind of just responding to the original poster about how i find things here and i used that as an example.



only the ones that will become popular. there are many newer members than me who are very popular.
but i do not care as much as it may seem. i think i would feel uncomfortable if i got too much attention here. but the almost complete ignorance that i get is puzzling.
i am not too stupid and i am not rude and i do not post angry or otherwise offensive things.
i have resolved that i am just "boring" which is ok. i do not think i am being "frozen out" or anything. i just wonder how loud i have to shout to be heard.

you know, if you could listen to all the people in the world talking (or otherwise uttering any sound) at the same time, and they were all of equal volume, it would sound like white noise.

so to hear the words of all humanity at the same time would sound like "shhhhhhhhhhh". ironic huh?

you can hear it at large football stadia? (stadiums) when everyone cheers. there are many comments raveled in that general "shhhhhh" sound of a large group of people.

if you could hear a million people screaming in horror or laughing hysterically it would sound the same.
i would not scream in a crowd because it is futile.



i think there are more NT's than AS here.
it is not either their or my problem.
it is not a problem at all.

i continue to post because someone some day may join the forum and identify with me.
i do not blame anyone who does not identify with me presently.

i would not write in a diary because there is no chance of anyone ever reading it and identifying, but at least in a large public forum, someone sometime will be no smarter or dumber than me, and they will see on my level, the posts i posted.

Well, in order to be liked you must be recogised, if you don't post fequently enough or your post lack content, it will blend in amongst all others.

Simleys is allso a good way to make sure the post is more noticed.

from what am have seen in posts-are not a horrible user at all.
do not see many posts though,maybe if posted more in boards like general and random?


am have not had one 'friend' since joining a few years ago,do not have interest in friends so that doesn't matter, even just for one off things,find direct communication/conversation difficult to impossible [so end up missing out on threads have started or replying to pms],so even make a useless temperary friend-do relate well to a few certain users on here though who are very similar to self,and have noticed no one has ever put up posts asking where they are when they've not been on for a while even though they are all very nice users-it shows the big difference between the 'popular' and the 'popularity challenged'-but doubt anyone would mean anything 'heirachy' by it,probably because they dont know or relate to the less popular well.


what about starting a thread,write about self to see if can find someone who can relate and will use an IM with self?

also,about IM,am think its normal for a lot of auties and aspies to have problems with msn/the rest of those IMs because of the processing speed needed to keep up with them.

and are never alone on WP even if think it,its like having friends without being friends,as will find lots of support when have got a problem,the community does look after its own without having to know a user well.
some may only look after the well known regulars but thats their problem.

A mixed message

For the things I really wanted and needed some help on, I received some interesting, well thought out, reassuring and helpful replies (with links and book recommendations...exactly the sort of thing I like and need)

But yes, i thought "Ah, an Aspergers forum. I will immediately make lots of new best friends, genetically engineered to be more compatible with me than my real life, non AS friends" .
I should point out I also used to believe I had latent magical powers as well though.....so.

But I still have no recommendations on music similar to Roni Size, Depthcharge or Sabres of Paradise.(possibly because I am too old to realistically participate in those fora ? *It's the correct plural but looks wrong*)..so I'll be forced to continue in my aging stoner rock rut.
